#WeekendExperiences (founded by @galenkp), #SublimeSunday (inspired by @c0ff33a) and #BeautifulSunday (initiated by @ace108) all share a love for adventure on the weekend with me!
This weekend, I am celebrating spring indoors and out!
Last Weekend
Last weekend, we left off with green starting to sprout and the blooms just about ready to pop.
7 short days later and some of the blooms are blooming! Just the early ones but I have thousands of different flowers from which the pollinators can choose for their late spring feast.
Outside
I wasn't the only one enjoying the outdoors this weekend. He generally patrols the grounds solo making sure there are no rabbits invading his turf. 'Tis the season to be working in the yard leading up to Mother's Day so he was happy to be with me all weekend.
Speaking of yard work, this is the damn disaster the yard is in after a long winter of harsh weather and neglect. Where the hell do I start? You may have to tune in later this week when I bust out the first Pickleman Family Garden post of the year!
A trip to the dog park at least once on the weekend is always in order. On the way there, we ran into a gaggle of geese, or so I think this would be called. A few families have gotten together with their little hosers, or so I think they are called ;), to protect them as a group. Fascinatingly enough, it appears this gives some other parents breaks to wander off and have a date night finding food while others goose sit....and leave a trail of goose shit.
Only 1 peek at dogwars to avoid singing the same tune every weekend and have you wanting more. Birdhouse Tree is starting to pop some buds as well. Only a couple weeks ago it was bare branches while a couple more now will probably have it with a full green head of hair.
Gala Time
It was not all outdoor fun & games. I was invited to attend the Business Excellence awards as our company Town Crier Marketing was nominated for an award. Funny to scan this pic and see so many friends and clients in attendance.
One fun and hard working family accompanied their father on stage to receive the Business Person of the Year award. They have always been such interesting and approachable people who have more than their share of adventure.
Another highlight on this night every year is watching one of our clients take home an award. Here is another hard-working family that runs another great local business we are presently building a new network for despite specializing in marketing these days. I have a plan to get back to blogging with the team on the @town-crier business blog and am saving up tales to tell with the team there soon.
Beer
It wouldn't be a weekend without #beer. This is a tasty light number supplied by a brewery I promised to highlight on #beersaturday. Consider this a tease and a cheers for all the weekend warriors.
I shot this one as a potential promo photo for the business but thought it would be perfect to share to cap off a fantastic mild spring weekend. The Dutch and Canadians have a special bond and it makes me happy to see us growing tulips in front of city hall. Just the precursor to a colourful summer in this small town.
