Our First Train Ride in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in September 2013

Hi, Train Spotting community! It's my first time to share a blog here in this community. Let me share with you my first train ride experience in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Living in Cebu, Philippines without a train, going to Malaysia was my first international trip. I was really excited to take a train ride around Kuala Lumpur during our 4-day and 3-night stay there.

The RapidKL

We had our tour guide pick us up during our guided tours in some touristic areas. After we got back to our hotel to freshen up, Ernhez and I decided to go to the Petronas Twin Towers by train to have some dinner.

We started at MRT Titiwangsa Station because our hotel was just a walking distance. It was near and convenient.

Being a first-timer in a different country, I let my friend lead our trip. He had some experience taking the train in Hong Kong so I let him purchase our ticket.

I laughed when I saw this ticket, looks like a token to play in an arcade game.

Of course, I took photos of him for documentation.

This was our second day in Kuala Lumpur so I felt so excited taking their local transportation. Although it was really hot in KL, the train stations were really clean.

I got the chance to take photos while we were waiting for the train. What's so nice about it is that it was not a crowded place.

I took some videos of our train experience using my iPad mini.

I only took a few photos but I wasn't able to take photos of the train coming. I had to put my iPad mini inside my bag. I just need to be mindful as a traveler.

The trains in Kuala Lumpur are so clean and if you're suffering heat outside, just get inside the train to cool down as the trains are well air-conditioned.

I also had no worries taking photos and videos during the entire train ride experience because there were no robbers or thieves around.

The locals use their mobile phones inside the train texting and watching videos (while on their headphones). As a tourist, of course, I took some videos.

No eating inside to keep the cleanliness inside the train.

Although I'd been to Manila and tried their MRT and LRT rides, I never had the freedom to take a lot of videos inside the train because it was always crowded and I was afraid that somebody might steal my belongings. I had to safeguard my bag.

Of course, it was easy to get around Kuala Lumpur with the rapidKL. The transportation system is so efficient.
