The Breadwinner

“How come he is the only one shouldering the whole family's problems? Is there no one to support him? I think I have to ask him to stop this thing he is doing as he failed to take care of himself.” Sunni was so anxious to notify his friend that he said all those words to Kenny, one of his friends.

“You just have to let him be since that's what he wants," Kenny replied.
“I can't let this happen anymore. Just look at him and the way he looks. He is getting smaller and weight. He even failed to take care of himself and instead faced his family's difficulties. Are those men and women he is helping not to work?” Sunny kept stressing and pushing this topic further.

“Did he complain that he was not happy helping his family? Has he for once informed you of that?” Kenny was so angry at Sunny with his words.

“Anyway, I think you are not going to speak the truth to him, right? But to me, I have to speak the truth, as I'm not happy with what he is doing, especially to himself.” Sunny pushed further.

“I hand it off to you; just do your wish, but I'm not part of this, OK?” Kenny replied.

Harry was a man with a good heart and someone who the family could never joke with, as he was not ready to joke with his family either. He was called the pillar in his family, and every one of the members of his family has been fixed up in different companies by Harry. All of his family members loved him just so much because of his good and frivolous nature.

One fateful day, Sunny took a walk to visit Harry in his family house.
“Hay, Harry," Sunny hailed.
“Hay. I do not see you at work today. Hope no problem?” Harry asked.

“I went to see my mum and siblings in my hometown," Sunny said.
“Hope they are good?” Harry asked.
“Yes, they are. I have been trying to tell you something that kept bothering me for all this while. I felt today would be the perfect day.” Sunny could not wait a bit to pour out his mind.

“Please, go ahead. I hope it is something that involves money. He asked jokingly.

“It's about you and your family," Sunny replied.
“I don't get you," Harry hurriedly replied.
“How many clothes do you have?” Sunny asked.
“I don't get it; please go ahead and speak up,” Harry replied.
“Don't you see the way you look? You are reducing every day, and you are also not taking good care of yourself either," Sunny continued.
“Not having does not mean I would rather not have, but I have too many responsibilities to shoulder.” Harry was just fast to speak up.
“As if you knew what I had in mind," Sunny replied.
“Please, just go ahead and talk to me.” Harry was ready to hear what Sunny had to say.
“Why did you put your family first?” Sunny poured out his mind.
“They are my everything, and I have to be the breadwinner of my family. If I did not stand up for them, who would?” Harry replied.
“It is not good for you. You have to escape some things from your family occasionally. You can't keep attending to them just like that, as no one would run for you just the way you do for them. I know what I'm saying.” Sunny was just trying to destroy his heart towards helping his family.

Sunny ignored his words and focused on something else.
“Did you hear what I just said?” Sunny asked.
“No, I was busy thinking of something important," he pretended not to hear.
“So, what you were busy thinking was more important than what I just said, right?” Sunny asked.
“But I do not hear what you said.”.
“Should I repeat myself?” Sunny asked.
“No, no need, because I'm not a fan of words like that," Harry replied keenly.
“Oh! It means you heard what I said.”.

As they were speaking, Harry's phone rang. His uncle's son called him, demanding a massive sum of money to pay for his school fees. Within minutes, he sent the money to him.
“You see what I was saying?” Sunny said.
“Please, just hold it there. You can counsel your elder brother, but not me because I know what I'm doing," Harry replied.

After an hour, Harry changed the topic to something else while his phone rang again.
“Hmmm, they will kill you," Sunny said.
“Please, don't let me send you out of my house," Harry replied.

“Brother, how are you?” Chidi, Harry's cousin, said from the other end.
“Chidi, I'm fine. How have you been doing over there?” Harry asked.
“Great, brother. I truly thank you for your help. If not for you, I wouldn't have made it to travel abroad two years ago," Chidi said from the other end.

“You don't need to mention; you know you are my cousin, and I can never see you needing help without rendering it, no matter how big it is,” Harry replied.
“I have sent 2 Bitcoins to that wallet address you sent to me through WhatsApp.” Chidi was so excited.
“What? But I do not ask for money from you," Harry replied in surprise.
“No, brother. I know the suffering you have passed through when searching for money just to send me abroad. Now that I'm working, I have to be the one sending you money instead," Chidi replied.
“But 2 Bitcoins is too much.” Immediately Sunny heard of Bitcoin; he was short of words.

“Just manage it, brother," Chidi said.
“Just have a good time there, and thanks a lot," Harry replied.

“That's why one has to help his family members no matter the situation. At least out of the ones you have helped, one must surely remember you. Guy, go home and help your family members, and you will receive Bitcoin just like me in return," Harry said to Sunny as he left shamefully.

Why can't some people just mind their business and let a breadwinner do his duty for the family.

that's the problem with them
