"How am I going to fix this mess I have caused?" Victoria kept contemplating asking herself a series of questions.
“My boss would finish me when he's back from his outside work. How do I fix this mess I had caused, and what would Mr. Bomb say when he sees this? How do I correct this mistake I have caused?” Victoria kept ruminating, trying to pour out her mind just to save her day, but then her mind could not come to a better conclusion and solution to her problem.
Mr. Ademola has been a renowned glassmaker. He can make any form of glass as well as ceramic mugs and jugs. His talent has earned him countless credits. Everyone in the surroundings speaks so nicely of his good work of making glasses. He always took things with carefulness and without making mistakes. He had produced so many glasses for the nearby people who had paid him a lot of money.
Victoria, on the other hand, has been from a poor background and always has this feeling of becoming just like Mr. Ademola. Her parents could not afford to send her to school, but she decided to learn a trade, and what she had chosen for herself was glassmaking. She had dreamt of becoming the best craftsperson. However, she has this attitude of not keeping fragile items safe.
“Dad and mom! I need to go to Mr. Ademola's house.” She seems to have permission from her parents.
“For what?” Her mum asked
“Staying idle without doing any work had kept me thinking. I needed to take a trade, just as you two had suggested some time ago. Seeing my mates go to school while I'm always at home kept me ashamed, but I just have to learn a trade.” Victoria was so anxious.
“Then, why from Mr. Ademola? You know your method of handling things is poor. The other day, you broke the costly mug that my dad left for me. It was the only thing I had been using to remember my dad. How would you be able to handle Mr. Ademola's items?” Her dad added.
“I have this feeling that I can do better.” Victoria was so sure of herself.
“We don't have any money to pay for any of your damages because I'm very sure you are going to damage items, which we would pay no matter what," her mom replied.
"I will try my best not to damage any items, and I will bear the consequences, "she added.
“I am not supporting this," her dad objected to her request.
Two days later, she left for Mr. Ademola's shop and fortunately met his presence. "Good morning, sir, "she greeted.
“Good morning, and how may I help you, young lady?” Mr. Ademola sat quietly as he was thinking of how to make the best mug in town.
“I am eager to learn how to make glasses just like you," Mr. turned to look at Victoria properly.
“How old are you?” He asked
“I'm 15, sir," Victoria answered.
Looking at her face, Mr. Ademola saw the eagerness but was doubting if she would be careful about keeping fragile items like glasses.
“Do you know how to keep fragile items?” He asked
“I have been trying to keep, and I will do better. Although my parents had always quarreled with me about not keeping fragile things proper," she replied honestly.
“Have you broken an item before?” Mr. Ademola asked.
“I have broken my father's precious mug”, Victoria replied
“How, then, will you keep my item safe?” Mr. Ademola asked.
"I will try, sir, "she replied.
Mr. Ademola kept looking at her and her honesty. "She is honest, unlike so many of them out there who would lie.
“I will give you a try”, Mr. Ademola said
Victoria was so excited. She rushed home and broke the news to her parents. The only word her dad said was "You will have to take full responsibility for whatever damage you may cause ",
“I will," she replied.
She resumed the next day. After a month of working, she had not broken any items.
“Who's the owner of this shop?” My Bomb asked while in his white-colored Benz jeep. “My boss just left for his lab and will be back in the next hour," Victoria replied.
“How can we help you, sir?" She asked.
“I have heard of your boss and his work. I want him to make me a silver glass mug without a stain of any color, Mr. Bomb ordered, as he also gave her the dimensions and a picture of what he wanted.
“I will relate your request to my boss”, she replied
"I will return tomorrow morning; just relate everything to your boss. We will discuss the price tomorrow," Mr. Bomb said.
"A man came looking for you. He said he wants you to make a silver mug without a stain of any color. The man is a rush man, and he said he will be back tomorrow for negotiations. " Victoria delivered the message to her boss.
The next morning, the rich man came around again. “I will pay you handsomely if you do what I desire and without mistakes. It must be done within four days," Mr. Bomb ordered.
“Don't worry, sir, it will be ready and nicely made," Mr. Ademola replied.

Two days later, Mr. Ademola got the job finished, and it was a very fine mug. Carelessly, Victoria walked towards the mug. The floor slipped her, and she fell, hitting her head on the mug. It fell and got broken. “Ye! Look at what I have done. How and what should I tell my boos had happened to the mug? Mr. Bomb would not take it lightly with my boss, and my boss will send me out of the shop for destroying the precious mug he had made," Victoria was contemplating.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ademola has one principle: he would never get close to what he had made until the owner called for it. A day passed, and I left with just one day to the deadline. She was relentless about what to say to her boss. She had watched her boss make mugs and even that special one but had not for once tried one. She went straight to her boss's lab as he had gone for outside work. She sat down with tears running down her cheek. She lit up the furnace and started molding another mug. She tried harder, but then all her hard work turned out to be nonsense. Not only that, but she poured everything out and started a fresh one. Likewise, she wanted to make a replica of her boss's type. Likewise, she had watched the way her boss used silver to make it glossy. With countless pains and tears rolling down them, she dedicated her heart to doing her best. "What she had made was perfect, but then she looked at her boss's broken mug and said, “I'm doomed; I think I have made the worst."
The day arrived, and Mr. Bomb came by. Victoria was shaking and sweating profusely. She had not told her boss about what she had done. Mr. Ademola happily went to his lab and saw the broken mug and the new one made and kept in the same position he had kept his. “Victoria, come over here immediately,” he commanded angrily.
“What have you done? You have ruined me. Why didn't you tell me?” He was so furious
"I'm sorry, sir. But I made this one from my heart after breaking the one you had made accidentally ", she said
“You have made rubbish. This is not what he had asked for. What should I tell him?”
“Sir, I think you should try this one and see his reaction," Victoria said
“Henceforth, I must not see you in my shop ever again,” Mr. Ademola said angrily.
As he was leaving, Victoria picked up the mug she had made and followed him straight to Mr. Bomb, unknowingly to Mr. Ademola.
“Sir, there is a pro...”,
“Wow..... This is beautiful, and even more beautiful than what I asked for. I have heard of your handiwork, and now you have shown me what you are made of.” Mr. Ademola was surprised to hear those words from Mr. Bomb. He turned and saw Victoria holding the mug she had made.
“Bu…t…",
“There is no but here, Mr. Ademola. I love what I'm seeing," Mr. Bomb interrupted.
"I will pay you handsomely and double what I planned for you."
Victoria was delighted and excited seeing Mr. Bomb's smiles and countless praises of what she had made. “She made it, Sir,” Mr Ademola said
“Who?” He asked
"My apprentice, "Mr. Ademola replied.
“Henceforth, you will be my potter. I will be paying you and your boss weekly allowance," Mr. Bomb added with excitement on his face.
“Thank you for saving my day,” Mr. Ademola said to Victoria.
