I will use this medium to write a short of a hunter who is unable to find his way back home from the forbidden forest just like an island lost in a fog. The brave Hunter disappeared into thin air.

Bewaji the Great Hunter

Koko village is a notable village in West Africa. Bankole is the warlord of the village and has single handedly killed five lions and three elephants. He is respected for his kindness and braveness. He fought many battles and he conquered, with all the accolades he was unable to give birth to a child who will take over his power, position and be the coolness of his eye, he has made several sacrifices to appease the gods.
While he was returning from a war, he was able to meet with a sound herbalist who was taken as slave as war gain. The herbalist liked Bankole's behavior and his kindness to people so he decided to help him. During their struggle the herbalist gave a sound warning and he assured Bankole that he will get a child and a brave one. He told him to warn his child of two things. One is to avoid marrying more than two wives so that he will not be destroyed by too much affection from women. He was also told to warn him against going hunting alone no matter how small the forest may be, he should go in company so that he will not be deceived and die a miserable death.
After they used the herb the herbalist prescribed and they offered the sacrifice accordingly, Bamkole's wife pulled to bed and gave birth to a bouncing baby boy as the herbalist earlier stated. The town rejoice with bankole's family and the king donated landed property to the warlord and enough slaves for daily activities.
Bankole was very happy at the announcement of his newly born baby boy, he decided to elevate the herbalist from a slave to a chief priest to compensate him for his successful effort on his long time problem.
Bankole named him Bewaji, a common name given to girl children because the boy looks pretty like a girl, at first sight he looks exactly like a girl because of the extra beauty Almighty God gave him.
Bankole trained Bewaji on the norms and manner required of him to be a better person, he also trained him on how to consult the oracle, he trained him on how to shoot and hunting processes.
Bewaji happens to be a fast learner and he acquires the basic knowledge of hunting in a few years compared to his age mate. He will tell his father to relax at home while he goes hunting with the other hunters.
One faithful day, Bewaji and two other hunters went on hunting and they always spread out so that they would kill many animals. The other two were attacked by a tiger and they were used as prey, after some minutes Bewaji discovered that he had not received any signal from the other two, he blew his whistle which resulted in no response. Immediately he searched for them and found them dead, he chanted incantations and he was able to conquer the tiger. He brought the tiger to the village, everyone was amazed and they concluded that he took after his Father.
Bankole returned to the world beyond and put tears on the occupants of Koko village, the king mourned him and cremated him in the middle of the village, he also named the big market in the village in his name.
Bewaji was decorated with his late father's title, he decided to stop hunting to avoid the bad revelation to prevail. He focuses mainly on war. He has made Koko village stronger than the way his father left the village, Koko village is a no go area in terms of war for the neighbouring village, some villages seek their help to win the battle.
After a successful war which was spearheaded by Bewaji the king of Adeoti village decided to give her beautiful daughter to Bewaji, at the sight of the king's daughter Bewaji fell in love and promised to do everything in his capacity to marry the king's daughter.
According to the tradition of Adeoti village, any foreigner that wants to marry their daughter must hunt on his own and deliver the meat to the bride's house. When Bewaji heard this, he wanted to resist at first but he called himself back and decided to go "after all I am well fortified, I am immortal" he said to himself and laughed.
On the hunting day, Bewaji made the necessary sacrifice. He entered the forest on his own. At first he killed five antelopes, he wasn't satisfied, he wanted to surprise them and also show them how powerful he is.
Suddenly the atmosphere changed, thunder struck continuously, he was able to understand the signal, he wanted to flee but was unable to move. The next thing he will see is that the ground opened and swallowed him in full. He lost his life because he ignored the warning.
Deep beneath the ground, the Titanic Hunter was lost to the afterworld.

I love the cultural representation in this story.

@adebayo22 I felt that the story is not over yet because the hero of the story is over, anyway I felt that at least the hero who had killed 5 antelopes must have some utility, he could do anything for his kingdom. But Could not do anything,
Please don't mind it is my thinking.

@fantom22 you're free to share your view but sincerely that is Africa story for you, it end once the main character died.
