Anna lived in a cozy little apartment, surrounded by loving friends and family, and worked as a graphic designer at a small firm. But her gaze was always fixed on the "greener" pastures of her successful friend, who married her boss whom they called Mr Steve. She would often find herself scrolling through Anita's Instagram, mesmerized by the glamorous projects and exotic travel destinations. She'd think to herself, "Why can't that be me? Why can't I have that level of success and recognition? Why can't I also have this type of man that will take care of me?? Am I a spoon?? Why do men don't even find me attractive with all this shape I have??"
Anna is such a beautiful girl that men follow and chase after her she has perfect behavior and seems right everywhere she goes. She has been going to different locations, clubs, and hangouts just to find the man of her dreams and of her mind. This is the only thing that has been disturbing her, she isn't bothered about anything again because once she sees a good man she believes she is going to be rich. All of her friends are already engaged or even have their fiance, but Anna has none, not even a boyfriend.
"My mates are engaged and having their kids already; why is mine different?" I don't even have a boyfriend yet, how am I supposed to get pregnant or even have a family". Anna laments in her room alone.
"Why will Anita be the wife of my own boss and I will be calling her my madam," Anna said furiously
She is someone who really loves the Internet and checks what is happening there, she always sees different marriages and how girls get surprised with a ring and accept their proposals. There is a guy named Fred around her workplace that have been disturbing Anna for some months now, but she turned deaf ears to his words. Fred is not even qualified to be Anna's boyfriend because she has some things in her book a guy must have and must not. Anna's top list is that the guy must be rich, and have money because that is what she wants. She only just wants to be a madam who spends money and receives baby girl treatment always just like Anita.

Steve cherishes and flaunts always in public most especially in his company and everyone really admires and loves their marriage. Anna loves how his boss cherishes his wife and wishes she was in her position to be the one enjoying the care her boss gives his wife. Anna started having a crush on her boss, she knew it was a wrong thing to do but she knew she deserved it.
"Anna, you better be calming down you've been saying no man has been coming around, what about all the guys that have been asking you out??" Eunice started a talk on a Sunday morning.
"Omo I don't see my man, swears he has all the qualities I am looking for in a man, whatever it takes I will do and I want him as my man." Anna was telling her friend while they were gisting
"So who is this man you are talking about, I am curious about him. At least you should accept Fred's request now" her friend asked
"Man, you say??" Anna laughed making jest of Fred
"Why are you like this everybody knows Fred is trying and also trying hard to make you happy and accept him stop being mean," her friend said
"My dear I am not mean, Fred is not the man I want have you forgotten all the things I told you my man must have" Anna replied
"He must be rich, handsome, caring, prayerful, popular, have money again and again, and also know how to take care of a woman. At least I am not asking for too much and all these qualities are what my boss Steve has" Anna smiled
"Ha Anna why not fear God, someone that is your boss even a married man at that is the one qualified for all your lists" Eunice was shocked
"It doesn't matter if he is married or not what I know is that Mr Steve is my man and my husband, Fred should go look for his so-called wife. I am not his wife" Anna said angrily and left.
Fred is a broke guy that he is trying so hard to make it and Anna knows this is not what she wanted on her list. Fred buys gifts and food even though he doesn't have much, he still tries to show and prove his love for Anna. But every one of his actions towards getting her failed she wasn't even freaked about all that Fred brought to her. Eunice was her colleague at work and she was surprised about what she said the last time they met and they were not talking like before again.
Anna went to church that God should give Steve as her husband, she also wanted to experience this type of love. She doesn't want only her friend'lifefe to enjoy all this care alone. After some months, there was an announcement in the church that Anita was sick and later died along the line. Everyone was shocked by this sad news, on the other side Anna was dancing and praising God that He had answered her prayer. Anna knew this was her chance now, since the boss's wife was gone she now had the opportunity to get close to Steve and accomplish what she wanted. Knock! knock!! knock!!! Anna was at the front of Mr Steve's house, she prepared his favorite food that he had always talked about in the office that his wife prepared for him then. She was really bold and practiced every word and action she was going to display there.
Mr Steve came to the door to see who was there, surprisedly she said Anna, and she welcomed her. With the look of things he doesn't even look as if Mr. Steve was mourning his late wife, she could not find any of their wedding pictures which she used to admire she felt a little weird about how things were. But she did not bother since she had gone so maybe things were supposed to be like that, she assumed.
"I cooked and brought your favorite food boss and I know you will love it" Anna began a conversation
"Anna, you are amazing" Mr Steve chuckled"
Anna was happy about the kind words Mr Steve said to her and she was already wondering how her marriage life would be with him
"You don't have to be worried about your late wife, God has reasons for everything and this is not where things will end. He has a better plan for you" She continued
Mr Steve smiled and hugged Anna and thanked her for her kind words and behavior towards him. After that, Anna left and kept thinking of the short moment that happened between them. She kept going to Mr. Steve's place regularly and Anna finally accomplished her mission, they started going out secretly and with time it became open to the public. Everything was going well just how she had set it out to be, after some months Mr Steve proposed to Anna and she was very happy.
In the months when she was proposed Eunice called and apologized to her because of that issue they had the other day, Anna no longer talked to her again since then. Anna wasn't really feeling comfortable and did not even want to talk to her friend any longer. She was still mad at her but she just had to pick so it won't look as if she was doing a bad thing. Anna's dream finally came true and she was the wife of a boss and she was also a boss lady that would be respected by everyone. She got the love she deserved in the first fifth months and she was really happy and glowing. In the sixth month of their marriage, Mr Steve's real character started showing. He started carrying different girls to his house, clubbing, and came home late. He no longer shows affection towards her anymore or even touches her again and they quarrel every time, but when there is an outing he threatens her to behave well and pretends everything is fine between them. They no longer even sleep in the same room again Anna cries almost every day and is surprised by the caring, God-fearing, and list she said Steve is qualified for. They were all lies and pretense, she now realized why Anita died. When she later found out, she was told that depression killed her because she always thinks and cries every single day. Because Steve has never treated her like his wife ever before everything has been fake and lies, she started facing everything Anita saw and enjoyed in her own thinking back then
She went back to Fred asking him if he was still interested but he was already engaged and happily married to his wife she could not cry. And she just left unhappy. After that, she went to Anita's grave and cried so hard for forgiveness and blamed herself for everything that had happened
