Captain Gosch asked Ventra if he indeed had forgiven Feym and Ventra Answered "Yes, a 1000 and one times".
Captain Gosch was astonished and his brows closing their separation spelt out his bewilderment. He took a good look at Prince Ventra and is face was void of any emotion of any sort.
5years ago King Hilka, father of Ventra, had contacted Feym during one of numerous wars with a neighboring Kingdom.
Feym was a mercenary who would fight for anyone that would care for his services as well as pay him good money too. And Feym was indeed a good warrior. The blood and numerous markings on his "bgola", a weapon with a axe head at one end and spear at the other, is a testament to his ability in war.
However, what King Hilka didn't know was that Feym would betray for a higher bidder. And that's exactly what happened when Feym added King Hilka to his numerous markings on his "gbola".
Captain Gosch is Prince Ventra's trainer. Right from when the prince was 2yrs old, Gosch has been on his side constantly and this isn't just because he is trainer but because Prince Ventra has a special need.
When the Prince was born, he wasn't revealed to the entire Kingdom because he was a "strange" child but the King's Seer informed the king that it was a gift from the gods. Prince Ventra had a demon in him right from birth and before Gosch had taught him control, Prince Ventra when angered would turn into a blue lady demon. They called her "Kisutra" meaning "born for war". she had incredible strength, magical powers and was ruthless.
Captain Gosch was selected by direction of the Seer to be by the Prince's side. He was the only one who could tame the prince and calm him down.
Over the years however, Gosch had taught Prince Ventra how to control "Kisutra" and he could now summon her at will.
When war was upon Volgore, prince would summon Kisutra and would vanquish the enemy for she was too powerful for their armies to withstand. The entire Kingdom was made to believe that Kisutra was the Kingdom's princess born a saviour that could not be seen except when it called for war.
3days ago, Prince Ventra made a sudden decision that baffled Captain Gosch and arose his suspicion that the prince was out to avenge his father's death.
The prince was to go on a dangerous journey and needed someone to accompany him and he, without hesitation, called for Feym.
He said he had nothing against Feym and that he'd pay Feym Fortunes to follow him into war. He also decreed that any man that would touch even the hair of Feym would have him to contend with.
Although the Prince said all this with honestly in his voice and on his face, Captain Gosch had his doubts.
Captain Gosch was restless and couldn't sleep. He was afraid for the young prince because if he took to the path of vengeance, there'll be no return for him as Kisutra would become blood thirsty and the prince would be lost forever.
The captain however comforted himself saying Feym would not be mad to accept the offer.
The Captain woke up the sound of drums and joyous singing. He got put of his tent and asked one of the soldiers what was going on. And the told him Feym was at the King's palace, he had accepted the King's offer.
"No!, His greed couldn't have made him so stupid!" Captain Gosch said, nodding his head in disappointment.
Gosch got to the palace when the singers and drummers and even onlookers had all dispersed. He met Prince Ventra and Feym eating on the same table. "Come, master, join us" Prince Ventra said, motioning to Gosch to come over. And without saying a word he went and sat down.
After the feast, Gosch called Feym aside and rebuked him for his lack of sanctity even for the late King's memory and consequently for his stupid choice. " It was business, Cap. Moreover, you think too highly of your student. If he thinks he can take me one-on-one..." He paused and laughed and continued "... he must be delirious".
Captain Gosch shook his head, put his hands on Feym's shoulders and said "truly, he who the gods want to kill they first make blind and deaf" and walked away while Feym laughed harder.
The next day, Prince Ventra and Feym set on their Journey. Captain Gosch admonished the prince not to give in to the temptations of vengeance and the prince assured him of his attention being not so inclined.
The duo of Prince Ventra and Feym, came to a forest and Prince Ventra stopped his horse. Feym also stopped. "Is there a problem my prince?" Feym asked. "What did it feel like killing a King" Prince Ventra asked. Feym immediately reached to feel his weapon.
"Today you pay for your sins, Feym!" Ventra shouted as he drew his sword and swung it at Feym. Feym expertly bent under the swing and came down his horse and drew his "gbola". "You must be delirious, young man!".
Prince Ventra charged at Feym. The two fought for a while and then Feym hit Ventra to the ground with his shoulders.
He looked into Ventra's eyes and said " say hi to..to..." And he began to stutter with a knife hanging down on his neck.
Captain Gosch had followed then since the journey began.
" Don't strike him!" Prince Ventra shouted. "I won't let you take this path" Captain Gosch retorted.
Immediately, the prince summoned Kisutra.
When Feym saw what was before him, he shook to his bones "so..so.. Ki...sutra" he muttered.
Kisutra held him by the head and Feym screamed in agony "coward!" He yelled.
Captain Gosch begged the Prince not to do it. Kisutra looked at Gosch and taking two of her hands off Feym's head, Feym's eyes and mouth gorged out white light. As the light shine out of his eyes and mouth Gosch shouted in agony. It finally stopped and Kisutra dropped him to the ground.
Back to Volgore, Feym, now blind, was locked in an underground dungeon. It turned out that the Prince's plan was to strike Feym blind and torture him and not kill him.
Captain Gosch was so much relieved and happy that his student took the right path.
