"It's beautiful." Kat whispered quietly to herself, drowning out the voices a door away from her. Her eyes met the moon, and its light sent colors of rain light to her.

Biting both her lips together, Kat held the cry in her heart.

"No... everything's okay now, Kat. Be happy. You deserve that much... you..."

Breaking down into little cries, Kat wrapped her hands around her petite frame on the bed she sat at. Her eyes still lingered around the moon, which she could see from her window.

Little tears danced silently around her cheek like a ballet dancer on a stage with no crowd.

Placing her hands on her mouth, she shook her head like a model in a swimming suit for vogue.

A silent creak was heard. But Kat was lost in her world, oblivious to the world around her.

A small hand gently sneaked toward her shoulder to pat her, but...

"No!" Kat half screamed, biting her inside cheeks in the process.

"Hey, gurl.. it is me." A familiar voice spoke as Kat held her chest with eyes closed to help with her breath. The electrifying feeling she got from the sudden touch on her left her almost immediately, bringing her back to her reality.

"Babe, it is me. Okay, just breathe." The voice said again.

Taking a deep breath, Kat turned her face toward the familiar person.

"An...I...I am sorry. I was lost in thoughts." Kat managed to voice out, earning a short smile from Anna.

"You said you were going to the toilet, and we didn't see you for about 3 minutes, so I decided to check if everything was okay. Are you having the jitters, Kat?" Anna asked with a concerned tone.

"No, I am... Ah… I mean, yes, I am okay. I was just thinking while staring at the moon. Everything happening right now is just unbelievable, An... I mean, I... I.. erm..I.."

Breaking down in tears, Kat placed her hand on her mouth. Anna got closer to her, pulling her closer to her stomach as a way of comfort.

"I know, right? Everything is just too good to be true. It gives this sort of feeling like we are in a fairy tale." Anna spoke, making Kat giggle a bit.

"It was all you, An. You didn't leave my side. I was able to face life because of you and found love too. You are a gem, An and I...I... sighs I just feel like I'll never be able to repay you." Kat spoke with a teary tone.

"No, Kat. It wasn't me. It was all you. You were strong and were ready to truly live life while taking care of them, and now, they are here for you. They are here for your big day, and it is such a miracle. It is a very fascinating, unheard miracle, and I am just so happy for you." Anna replied before sitting close to Kat on the bed with her left hand placed on Kat's back and her right hand on Kat's lap.

"Yes, it is a miracle." Kat whispered quietly, facing the moon again.

Closing her eyes, her mind drifted to the times things became wrong in her life.

"The surgery was tough as the tumor in his brain was in a tough position, but we were able to get it out. However, he went into shock, which led to a coma. We did everything we could. The rest is left to the patient." The doctor had quietly said with his head bowed.

Kat had watched her mom throw a fit, holding onto the doctor’s coat.

"When will he wake up?" she had asked with tears streaming down her eyes.

"I.. We would keep on checking his vitals and all. I am sorry for the turn of event." The doctor had replied before walking off, leaving her mother on the cold floor of the hospital wailing like a newborn baby in need of her mother's breast.

Weeks, turns to months, and Kat watched her mom break down as each day passed by. At first, it started with a glass of wine, then it multiplied, from a glass to tens of bottles of alcohol in a day. Kat had pleaded, cried, and supported her mother in every way she could. But, the absence of her husband tore her beyond repair.

Eight months and some weeks after her father's coma tragedy, her mother developed cirrhosis, but Kat found out when it was at the severe stage.

And, according to the doctor, the Cirrhosis led to Hepatic encephalopathy, which led her mother to coma land with her dad.

With no financial help, Kat had to work extra time in her factory despite working as a secretary in a company. While working, she also had to create time to check on her parents and it got to a point Kat almost lost her sanity, but thankfully, Anna who was her colleague at the HR department became a support system when she was almost sacked from work.

It was a hell of a journey. For two years, Kat had to do this until Micheal came in. Micheal is a business guru and also a philanthropist who always goes to hospitals to pay up people's medical bills and their paths crossed when he came to the hospital where her parents were.

He had seen her crying in a corner and had found out her situation from the doctors. He spoke to her and, at that moment, began her journey to this very moment.

That's what makes tomorrow so special for her as she wasn't just going to get married, but also going to be in the arms of her dad and presence of her mom and Micheal, her fiancé.

Her mother and father had woken up a few days ago almost at the same time and... they'd be with her as she walked down the aisle.

"You know you can't cry too much babe, tomorrow is almost here, and there are people waiting for you downstairs for the bridal shower. Your mom and the girls are waiting. Today is a happy day, and tomorrow will be happier." Anna said with a smile.

"Yeah, I guess I need to smile more since there's a lot to be happy about." Kat replied with a smile. Taking a peak at the moon again, she hugged Anna as they took a step out the door to the happiness that awaited them.

Chai. I felt for Anna, it reminds me of a story I read one time on Wattpad, though she lost her mom but her dad made it, thanks to the support of her lover she was able to go through the dark moments. Really beautiful and simple. Wish I could write this short sometimes too.

What a touching story, life can tosse one around to a confused state, thank God for Michael and Anna who was like a saving grace, life challenges maybe difficult to deal with.
