Sometimes the first step to make our day count is clearing the table and relax.
Relaxing does not mean wasting away your time it just means starting your day with ease. When your brain is at ease it helps you to think proactively and this provides us with results at the end of the day
There's really no need for you to start your day in a mid panicking state that is brought about by self doubt especially if your Boss has just rejected your well written proposal and you feel like nothing is going right and now your schedule is tight that you are not so sure you'll scale through.
Let's see this together

When I was younger than this, I would always complain about being busy all day but not having anything to show for it except the neat plates in the kitchen and the arranged sitting room but when i move to other places I tend to do better and today looking out of the bathroom's window and I saw what my mummy was busy with is when I understood what had gone wrong, Before I continue my mom is a very hardworking woman that I sometimes feel that work is her own escape and she has trained us so well that if you knew me personally you would not think it twice before you agree with me.

My mum is a public secondary school teacher and so she's supposed to leave home by latest 7:00am and there she was in the garden trying to do some unnecessary things like raising a fallen banana tree at some minutes to 7 and then I realized that we lacked the consciousness of setting priorities so we just did everything at any given time and this reduces the level of productivity so.......
Setting priorities is also one thing we should consider very important because when you have a busy schedule your priorities or your scale of preference helps you to start with the most important ones so that you don't start your day with focusing your energy on the least important one and then after working for a short period you are running low on energy and yet when you check your to do list you are still on number 2 and its looks to you like you have not done anything and then your feeling of self doubt comes back clouding your once energetic day. The truth is you have done something just that you have done nothing important

Like this morning you have a tight schedule yet your yesterday tasks are staring at you unfinished and all you want to do is just sit at the table and pick off somewhere
You are not supposed to pick off, it's a new day you are supposed to start somewhere. Read it again You are not supposed to pick off you are to Start, Starting is Fresh and helps focus your energy.

Most times we feel so energised that we just want to catch up with all that we have procrastinated and then we happen to spend most of our energy thinking on where to start from especially if we have a lot to catch up with
Then instead of Making a list we sit down there to think of activities that we have been putting off some while and they have become mountains that we are not so sure we can subdue and we feel like we have failed and the emotions and reasons for putting them off drains off our energy.

What your ideal option is to first start with today schedule and make it snappy then you can squeeze in yesterday's schedule during your free period
Taking it bit by bit matters a lot so that you don't get choked when you check your to do list
So plan and set your priorities and also make a list
Then chew it bit by bit just the same way you chew your sausage roll so you can enjoy every tasty bit of it

So while you feel today is Saturday and you might think that if you had seen this on a Monday you might have been able to clear off your list
It is not to late to do it Right and get it Right but I'm definitely not saying you should go to work tomorrow to clear your table. All I'm saying is the WEEKEND is just before a NEW WEEK.

Thank you for enjoying every bit of this to the end 🌹

Hi @derimo. Thank you for sharing your story in The Ink Well. While this isn't your first post in the community, you may still need to get better acquainted with our community.

Please be sure to read our community rules, which can be found at the top of The Ink Well community page. Here are some important callouts:

  • We are a short story community — both fiction short stories and creative nonfiction short stories. You can find a description of what we are looking for in nonfiction in our most recent creative nonfiction story prompt post, which is always pinned at the top of the community.
  • We are all about creative writing and engagement. We ask everyone who publishes in The Ink Well to read and comment on the work of at least two other stories for each one published.
  • Every image in your post must have an image source associated with it, which includes the link to the site where you found the image. Please provide a link to each image in your post.

Once you have supplied the links to each of your images, we will evaluate for curation. Thank you!

I'm sorry that I mistakenly ignored the rules of the community.
Thank you for the corrections🙇
They are duly noted and I have made the corrections.

Hi @derimo. Sorry if it wasn't clear, but you need to link each source reference to the actual page where that image can be found, not to the main Pixabay site. If you cannot find them again, then you'll need to replace the images with new ones.

We hope you understand. Anyone can say "I found these on a free image site." But we do actually need the direct source for each image. To do that, you need to copy the URL of the page when you open the image, and that is your source. If you look around The Ink Well site, you will see this is how everyone references their image sources.

Thank you!
