Guide — The Inkwell Writing Prompt

in #hive-1707982 years ago

It was Lucia's last paper for the session. She had read pretty well for the exam, answered a lot of questions and the lecturer was also good at what he did so we could say she was fully prepared for Sept 29 which was the date slated for the exam.

Finally it's here, they were checked into the Hall and given their questions paper and answer booklet. Believe me, the only thing Lucia could feel in her spirit was the joy of getting done with the exam. She was overly excited because deep down she felt she was well prepared for the course so it was already a distinction.

Now in the setting of the school you are to choose any question suitable for you and answer properly but Lucia had no time to read the guide for the question paper presented to her, as she felt that it would be the same with the past questions of the previous years she had studied the course with.

The guide those years she studied has always required the students to attempt three questions with number one being compulsory. So Lucia just rushed to her answer booklet and answered just three questions and quickly submitted and left the hall.

She left for the bus stop waiting for her friends to round up so they could head back to the hostel. While waiting, she decided to keep herself busy by going through the questions again to be sure she did the right thing and that was when she realised that she didn't follow the guide and she decided to quickly do that.

Funny enough lucia was amazed because this time around the guide says answer five questions from 6 and none was compulsory.

Her heart sank inside as she couldn't get herself to believe what just happened to her and the only thing that she could remember was how she ran back to the exam hall explaining to the supervisors how she didn't follow her guide and would like to be given another chance to correct her errors!!.

"The exam is over, just go home and await your result!" They responded. She tried convincing and pleading to them, but her efforts were to no avail.

She went home knowing that it would take God's grace for her to graduate with her mates since the course — a core course, didn't go as planned.

On the release of the result however, she was very lucky to come out with a pass. This was the greatest miracle to have happened to Lucia during her undergraduate level and she was ever grateful!

keep writing and establish relationships with other writers by commenting on their publications.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Lucia didn't followed the guide but still passed the exam. This was her good luck.

Yeah, she was just lucky enough to pass the exam.

This story made me remember somehow my high school times. Lots of stress when trying to pass decisive exams. I think most of us have experienced that at some point haha.

Haha. It happens at times. Thanks for coming around.

@ellenkech,That is why someone has said that while giving the exam or doing any work, the rules should be read with full care. Lucia was lucky that she gave 3 out of 6 answers yet passed. Maybe not everyone is so lucky. If you had elaborated the story a little more, it could have become more beautiful.

Sometimes being over confident can make one forget somethings. I would do better in the next contest, would be expecting your engagement.
