Louis wants.

When Louise looked at the beautiful puppy in the window she fell in love with him immediately.

"Who couldn't love such a beautiful being?" she said to herself.

She wasn't the only person looking at the beautiful pug puppy, next to her stood two boys with school bags on their backs and a young looking man. Louise paid no attention to them, she was captured by the puppy's black eyes.

"This is the cutest one," said one of the children, waving his hand over the glass in a gesture that simulated a caress.

This time the child's voice and gesture elicited a smile of tenderness from the young girl. Intuitively Louise sought the man's eyes and in his face she saw the same feelings she had at that moment. They both smiled at each other, but immediately looked away.

The children went on their way. So did the man. Left alone Louise repeated the boy's gesture, moving her hands over the glass as if making a caress.

"You're the cutest puppy in the world," she said.

She took two steps to go home, but with one last glance she noticed that the little dog had moved his head in her direction. Then she went back, opened the door of the pet store and walked out with the puppy in her arms.

On the way Louise ended up falling in love with her puppy, he still had the smell of milk on his breath, he emanated a delicious warmth and his fur looked like velvet.

The puppy wouldn't stop looking at her either, his intelligent eyes big, dark and sweet and his forehead full of wrinkles as if he was worried about the important moment he was living.

"Don't be worried, we'll be a very close family. This is your home" Louise said as she opened the door to the apartment.

She placed him on the floor and set about finding what would later become the puppy's belongings: a blanket, a water bowl, a stuffed toy. After placing him on the blanket she sat down next to him.

"What name would you like" she asked him.
The puppy just looked at her, his brow furrowed and his gaze sweet.

She kept calling him cute pet names.
Harry? Ron? Thor? Yago? Coco? Milo? Sam?

Do you want to be named after me? Do you want to be called Louis? Louise said as she pressed her forehead to the puppy's forehead.

Then the little animal stuck out its tongue and licked her nose.

Louise understood that as consent. She also thought it was a good idea to share the name.

From then on Louise and Louis became inseparable. She no longer lived alone in her first apartment. She spent a lot of time at home, doing remote work. She was an interior designer getting off to a good start and was usually drawing on her computer.

The first few days Louis would gladly eat her cookies. But after a while he began to sit on Louise's lap while she ate. He would look at her long and hard with his big, black, sweet eyes and she, without knowing why, began to share her food with him. The cookies were no longer needed.

Louis looked so happy, he thought he had the perfect mom and he was her spoiled brat. But he was wrong. One day he noticed something strange. There was an intriguing sweet smell in the apartment, a kind of citrus-tinged scent, an intoxicating perfume, familiar and strange at the same time.

Louis sniffed everywhere, went to the bathroom where Louise kept her perfumes. He smelled the soap, the shampoo, the water, he sharpened his sense of smell and thought he recognized the scent in a bottle of the cream his mother used for her hair.

Louis was ready to get to the end of this mystery. He reached the bed, where his mommy was, and plunged his flat snout into her hair.

Oh, yes, what a delicious smell Mommy's hair had. Luois licked his mommy's hair and really wasn't thrilled. The hair didn't taste like that. Could he be wrong? He was confused.

Louise stroked her pet's neck.

What do you have Louis, what are you smelling? she said affectionately. Then the little dog knew that the mysterious smell was coming from her mouth.

Louis' ears perked up, he was smelling an amazing combination of smells, he smelled vinegar, ripened cheese, baked apples, flowers, milk, cloves, roses, but also the plant Louise had in the window that she called "my beautiful orchid".

Luois was smitten by the delicious scent. He smelled Mommy's mouth and searched for her eyes, trying to mark well the wrinkles on her forehead.

"Mommy must understand what I want." He thought. That gesture had always worked for him.

This time Louis wasn't wrong. Mommy understood.

Ah, are you smelling the chocolate? she said amused.

You're a very clever little dog, Louis, but I'm sorry to tell you that dogs are not supposed to eat chocolate. As she spoke Louise wagged her finger from right to left.

Louis was not happy with the refusal. His wrinkles deepened. Mommy understood that he was sad, got out of bed and went to the kitchen to get him something to eat.

Louise didn't realize that she had left her half-eaten chocolate under her pillow. Louis spotted it immediately and when the young girl came in from the kitchen she found her beloved pet chewing with pleasure.

Louis! she shouted.

She knew Louis was in mortal danger. She had to act immediately. On her phone she looked up the nearest veterinarian, phoned him and explained the situation. The doctor consented to emergency care.

Once there she was treated very quickly. Louis was a very young puppy. There was no time to waste. The doctor and his assistant took him to an inside room and Louise waited outside.

An hour later the vet brought her good news.

"We pumped his stomach. He will be fine. He's sleeping now. We have to fill out a chart. Can you tell me your name?"

"My name is Louise," she said, as she accompanied her words with a sigh of relief.

"And your pet's name?"

"Louis, his name is Louis."

"Ah! How nice! My name is Louis too!" , said the doctor extending his hand to her. He had a nice smile.

Louise took his hand and smiled too. Then she recognized him.

"Are you the person who was looking at Louis the day I bought him?

Yes. I recognized him when I waited on him. I went to look for him the next day. This is a great coincidence!

Some people don't believe in coincidences.

When Louis woke up from anesthesia he saw his mommy next to him and on the other side of his stretcher he saw this nice man looking at his mommy in a special way.

Louis was a puppy with a very good nose.

Tender story that you share with us. I loved the little dog, like everyone, he is naughty and always looking for trouble, but at the same time he was the architect of a love story between the girl and the vet.

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful story with a flavor of chocolate and love.
