Tiwa, my worst nightmare.

in #hive-1707989 months ago

As a fresher in the University, I was so excited because the written examinations and rigorous processes I went through were a nightmare and as a result, I promised myself to have fun to the fullest and lot more.

I was on campus trying to find my way around when I saw Ben, one of the crazy guys we wrote entrance examinations together. He screamed "Holler" So you have finally resumed and I replied yes that I resumed a few days ago, he laughed and said he had been on campus for about three(3) weeks now, I smiled and we worked through a corner leading to the cafeteria.

While standing opposite the cafeteria we saw lots of students trying to read what was written on a notice board, we quickly rushed down to have a look and on getting there, we noticed it was an invite specifically inviting all freshers to was tagged "fresher's night".

Ben shouted "Yeah can't wait to be there", I replied really? He said yes that his big brother told him a lot about the campus party organized for freshers, and that this was exactly what he had been waiting for.

I also recalled that I promised myself that I was going to have fun to the fullest, so I shouted " Can't wait to be there as well"

Myself and Ben arrived at the party at exactly 11: 30 p.m. and information reached us that the party would commence by 11;45 p.m., so Ben said to me that we were on point, that our timing was perfect.

The Party started at exactly 11:45 and after about two(2) hours into the party, the matter of Ceremony (MC) announced that you all are free to ask anybody out that the rule is that, nobody should decline.

As a shy type, I know I wouldn't go to any girl and my prayer was that no girl(s) should come to me.

I tightened my face cap and kept my head low.

After about 30 minutes the announcement was made, and a lady just walked up to me, and said to me "Hi handsome", I did not reply and still kept my head low. She tapped me and said handsome I am talking to you, I replied oh sorry I was deep in thought.

She continued that her name was Tiwa and I also replied that my name was Holler, she asked if she could join my table and I said no problem.

She asked me to order anything that all bills on her, so I ordered Goldberg beer and bottled water and she ordered a very powerful gin.

We had a nice time and she begged me to come spend a night in her hostel, I declined but she insisted.

I have no option but to spend a night in her hostel, I know you guys will be curious to know if anything happened that night.

While sleeping beside her on the bed, I kept asking myself a question "How on earth will a lady drink that powerful gin all alone"?, I was not relaxed and I badly slept till the following day.

When it was around 5:30a.m I quickly her my stuff and left her hostel before she was up.

I did not go to school the following day and when I finally resumed school, the news was all over the campus that I was going out with the first Lady of a particular cult group.

My heart skipped and while trying to put myself together, Ben came to me and said "Wow you had lots of fun on the fresher's night" I just smiled with the side of my mouth and answered him while shaking my head.

He said he forgot to tell me that some group of ladies came to check on me and out of curiosity, I said for what? He replied that he had no idea.

I said to myself that I had just dinned with the devil and as from that day, a series of cult ladies do come and check on me saying that they were acting on the First Lady's instructions.

On this faithful day while I was reading in a classroom, I was Surrounded by a group of ladies led by Tiwa, she said I had been avoiding her and that I dislikedkedd that, I had to open up to her after finding out who she was I got really scared and so on.

She smiled but warned me to stop avoiding her and I replied I would.

From that day I was used to cult ladies hanging around me all in the name of protecting me and so on.

The story changes when a fight breaks out between a rival cult and Tiwa who was the main target is assassinated.

The news to me was a bad and good one, and since her demise, normalcy has come back into my life I also learned a big lesson, and as I speak "Tiwa's issue is just like a water under the bridge.

Thanks for stopping by.

Those days were not funny at all bro, I could not concentrate on my studies, no female friends, etc. I am partly happy that everything went that way.

Thanks for stopping by and for the amazing compliments appreciate that.

God, you had bodyguards, wow, you should have considered yourself lucky to be protected .. lol.. just kidding 😂

I felt bad she died, I wonder what caused the fight that led to her death. I'm sorry for your loss

Yeah, I had bodyguards but I was not happy about it because I was monitored, I could not even have a lady friend, etc.

The cause of death was because there was a clash between her cult group and another, after this clash three(3) students were killed, and when the case was reported to the authorities, few arrests were made and that was all.

The clashes between rival cults is a continuous activity and the authorities find it difficult to put an end to this abnormal act displayed by the cults.

Thanks for stopping by.

You begin the piece well--you provide motivation for the actions that will follow. You wanted to have fun. The announcement of the MC, that one could not decline an invitation, sealed your fate with Tiwa. She was looking for a target and you were convenient.

Staying with her overnight was probably not a wise move, but you were a freshman and rather green. You resolve the piece satisfactorily, but telling us of Tiwa's death. It seems you had a lucky escape.

Thank you for sharing this with us, @holler (one note: you probably mean 'fateful', rather than 'faithful' day).

Thank you for having me, corrections duly noted.
