Elena was a girl who came from a poor home. She lost her father when she was 8, and her mother when she was 9. These events got her devastated and confused about what life would be if she has no parental controls.

After the death of her mother, she was taken to the orphanage homes because none of her uncles wanted to adopt her into the family. She stayed in the orphanage homes for 6 months and later returns to her father's house because she was so arrogant, disobeying and fighting type with kicks every door to fight a kid who disobeys her.

Uncle Mike adopted her because she had no option and no means of survival on her own. This was a tedious and strange decision for Uncle Mike. His wife was not in good terms with him because he made a decision without informing her. She hated the fact that Elena was among her children without prior notice.
On her 10th birthday, Elena was given some gifts in order to look like other kids in the block. That was a game-changer for Elena and she loved all the gifts that was given to her on her birthday. She made a decision of living happily with Uncle Mike and his family even though she was not fully incorporated into the family and their way of life.
Elena was also giving an admission to study in the same school with Uncle Mike's children. Elena being an intelligent child outsmarted all the pupils in her class and was chosen to be among those that represent the school in the upcoming spelling competition known as SPELLING BEE.
Elena was invited to practice with selected candidates for the spelling bee at different levels of their school. She wants to try her first and was unable to represent herself well. Her shyness brought her to the bottom of the table and was among the least considered participants for the competition.
Six weeks pasted and it was time for the final inter class challenge. Elena was called up to challenge one of the top 10 rated candidates. The first 15 words given to her to pronounce was perfectly done and another 15 words were pronounce for her to spell and she also came out very well against her opponent. Her rank was grown in a day which is the final day. She was written from 25th to 7th and was given the green card to represent her class.
The deal day came and Elena was prepared and ready to nail it without any bent one. Her main objectives was given to her but her uncle which was "To win and set a record for ages to come". This on the other hand was a great task for her, but she had no option than to obey the last order. She was also receiving a kind of good gestures from uncle Mike's wife who promised to buy some good looking clothes for her if she secures the scholarship by winning the Golden crown.
Her school on the other hand were in dept of little or no salary payment which would be settled if she comes home with the top spot which has the lots of goodies in the winner's prize.
For her, the all expectations were stationed on her probability of winning.

She was gloriously welcomed into the big auditorium and was given a round of applause for beating every kid in her class and the 7th in the entire ranking system, even though she was in junior class with other top performers.
She took permission from the principle to observe some minutes away from the eyes on her and the noise to do her last practice as well as praying to God for devine intervention.
The challenge was announced open by the regional Commissioner of Education. Elena was called up along with other participants from schools around the region.
She became nervous after answering the first question correctly.
Her skin hairs were upstanding and her nose was bleeding. She was full of guessing and her eyes were not focused on anything at all.
For the 10 participants, 70 questions were asked for seven rounds and they all answered very correctly.
The competition become more toughened after the judges were out of questions.
They used many options in order to disqualify them, but none of them failed.
The 12th was near and most of the participants were tired of standing.
They were offered seats to relax for an hour taken as break which has never happened in the history of spelling bee.
On the 12th round, the Commissioner of Education requested that they should divert fr English words to names of leaders around the world.
Elena was called up to mention and spell 5 names of African leaders who were in power between 1999-2010.
She laughed on hearing the question. This was because, her uncle found listening and watching news with her and his children on radio and TV every night helpful and educative. She adapted to doing that even in the absence of her uncle.

She stood up and made mention of the leaders along with the correct spellings of their complete names because, uncle Mike's wife was at the apex of the stage doing lips trick to make it crystal clear for her, a kind of reminder.
Other candidates were confused because, they could make mention of up to 5 and their spellings were wrong.
The judges were excited to listen to Elena doing the spelling and as well, telling them brief history about the aforementioned leaders.
This got the Commissioner very happy. He made huge promises which covered Elena's scholarship through the university, a dream come true for uncle Mike's wife.
She was made known to the national and international levels as the record breaker, a benchmark for anyone who wishes to represent the country.
