Brands of wasted love

Here, drowning, chocking, I'm stuck deep now.
What once was turned sour,
Abused, maimed.
Here, shattered, mourning aeons of wasted vows
A flower wounded,
Punctured, torn, infirmed.
How I did love you, life, an unwanted pal
Yet wanton, love denied me, hateful foe.
Unsated,
A thousand stabbing metals
It pushed down this heart with reckless blow.
As a million pins inside my members stuck,
This empty void within, it tears apart.
The claws of pain still digging, oh savage hawk.
Maiming, ripping flesh, my unkindly torn parts.
Love's warmth ought to heal the soul
Yet scars it gave me,
Brands of wasted love.

hi @mmeyenejoseph, you write with a depth of emotion that is both beautiful and painful to read. Unfortunately, you have published this heartbreaking poem in a short story community. While we appreciate good poetry as individual curators, we don't curate poetry in The Ink Well. This piece would have been better placed in the BlockchainPoets community. Based on your writing, we would love to see what short story fiction or creative non-fiction you might be able to come up with, driven with the same level of emotion, for one of our writing prompts in The Ink Well, and look forward to being able to curate you very soon.

Oh, I understand better. Thank you so much.

This poem appears to reflect on deep pain inflicted on several levels. You write with emotional depth, @mmeyenejoseph . I like that. I see you are also new to Hive. Welcome! I hope to read more of your work, and look forward to seeing some short stories in The Ink Well 🤗

Thank you, I'm super glad to hear this. And yes, you'll be seeing more of me.
