The weather climate changed; I could feel the cold breeze, and I heard the sound of thunder with a flash of heavy lightning. I knew it was about to rain.

The rain fell heavily on the road while we were driving, the wind blew so heavily and the thunder struck, driving very slow because of the unfinished road, we saw an elderly woman standing alone, perhaps she was waiting for a taxi. We knew there wouldn't be one under this kind of rain.

"She might be going our direction, let's see how we can help her get home," Jason said. I knew he was going to say that, as the kind-hearted and helpful person he is, he wouldn't pass without helping the elderly woman who looked soaked with rain, and it seemed like she was shivering.
We stopped the car in front of the woman and beckoned for her to come in so we could ask for her direction. She walked toward us, about to open the car door, when we saw 3 armed men coming out from the bush beside the road; a car suddenly started and drove swiftly to the front of our car.
" Get down from the car " one of them shouted while pointing a gun at us.
Shivering with goosebumps, I got down while Jason did the same. The woman was already lying down unfazed. Immediately I saw her expression I knew this was a setup.

" Take whatever you want, please, and leave us alone," I pleaded with tears running down my eyes.
"Hand over the car key" one of them shouted roughly. Jason was so calm and silent, he handed the car key to one of the men.

"Let's move guys," he said as he signaled to the man in the car.
Wait!! I heard someone shout. It was the man in the car, he looked like the boss, I watched him step down and walk towards me.
" I want her, I want the lady," he said as he pointed his hands towards me.
Leave her alone, stay away from her, Jason shouted and wrestled as he watched the men drag me away.
I was praying in my heart; "God please I know you answer prayers, help me right now "

"I said leave her alone!!" Jason shouted furiously as he stood up and hit one of the men.
Ohhh... look who is trying to be a Superman here, the man in red said.
Guys......deal with him, I will take care of the lady, he added ruthlessly.
Please leave him alone, I begged, it all turned deaf ears as I watched them take the dragging Jason away. I heard him when he shouted, "I love you, babe," and I heard a gunshot.

Darkness surrounded me, I felt like a heavy metal object just resting on my head, Jason! Jason!! Jaasoonnnn!!!! I shouted with tears flowing down my eyes, struggling with the huge hands on my arms.

"If you don't want to join him, you should remain calm." The boss said with a wicked grin on his face.
"You can just kill me at once..." I shouted angrily, my heart was already skipping.

The man chuckled and said, "I intend to do that, but not without having you, my dear..." I watched as he approached me, knowing what fully awaited me, I went all blanked, and the last thing I remembered saying was, "God, where are you?"

I lost my virginity that night, I intended for Jason to be my first, we had been together for over 2years and our wedding was in 4 days but that dream was shattered because my childhood friend Paul did this to me, don't ask me how I knew because that's a story for another day.

Fiction.

This story is absolutely heartbreaking. The vivid descriptions made the intense moments feel incredibly real, especially with the sudden shift from a seemingly kind act to a traumatic encounter. The way you portrayed the emotions of both characters—Jason’s bravery and your protagonist’s fear—added so much depth to the narrative. The twist with the reveal about Paul being involved left me speechless, and it really makes me wonder about the backstory there.

The writing captured the emotional turmoil so well, from the sense of dread to the profound sense of loss. It’s a powerful and tragic story, and you portrayed the helplessness and the shattering of dreams with such poignancy.

Thank you for sharing this raw and emotional piece. It left me thinking about how sudden and cruel fate can be. Great work!

Thank you so much.
