I was attending Fellowship of Christian students, His Dwelling Place FUTMINNA (FCS HDP) when I was in school and I’ve always looked forward to our Final year Brethren’s (FYB) Dinner day.
It was announced in the (FYB) group chat that our dinner would hold after they’ve shifted and shifted the date.
Few days to our exams, We went to the mountain to pray for our final exams and before the prayers we were just catching cruise with each other, take pictures and singing too.
So before the prayers started Sarah came to me with a flower she saw on the mountain there and she told me that she’ll love to be my date that day, she said it when everyone was listening, I was really embarrassed and shy because Bolu was capturing the moment and he was shouting say yessss
I said okay, sure we’ll go together for the dinner.
Fast forward to the dinner week, Comfort asked me be her date just 2 days to the dinner but before then about 2 weeks ago Sarah had already told me that I’ll be her date……..
Comfort is a very beautiful lady, like everything was in the right proportion, her face card was 100 and everything about her was just so so amazing
Like she was a complete spec (an ideal one I’m not going to lie) and I was having a crush on comfort so I agreed without giving it a second thought at all and plus Sarah wasn’t saying anything about us going together again, so said to myself that it’s my chance to make this girl know that I like her.
The day of the dinner came and I called comfort, she made me wait for her on the road so we’d go together but didn’t show up and she told me to go that she’ll join me there
The dinner was suppose to start by 6 but she didn’t show up until around almost 7
I didn’t want to reduce my steeze so I legit waited outside the gate so people won’t mock me, she eventually came and she was so beautiful dressed, we walked hand in hand together and the photographers around were wowed and told us to wait so they’ll get a picture
Little did I know that Sarah already had plans and it was that day I got to know that she already plans on coming to the dinner with her boyfriend ( Our FYB papa), so when I came inside our eyes met and I was like “Nice one”
It was an amazing evening that day, everyone’s eyes were on us throughout
I was having the time of my life until we were talking and she said something like “if my man catch you”
i was like “wait…..you said what?”
She didn’t say anything because the music was loud in the hall so I just locked up and we vibed and went home happy that night.
Few days later I went to campus to continue with my project and some of my coursemates were around, so while we were sitting in the classroom working, Tisco said he saw my status and was like “wetin una do that day?”
Then I told him it was our FYB dinner
Then he asked “Shey you know who you carry comot that day”
I was like “Comfort na, my fellowship person”
Then he was like “na one guy for my lodge babe ooo” and that she was at her boyfriend’s place the whole day that day and that was why she came late to the dinner.
Immediately I told myself “Nicely played comfort”
Then I realize that I was just a second option because her boyfriend couldn’t attend the dinner.
It was really crazy, though I didn’t say anything or asked her anything at all because she obviously wasn’t my girlfriend in the first place because I was only crushing from a distance and didn’t make my intentions known to her.
