IT CAME AS A SHOCK BUT WE MOVED ON REGARDLESS

Yay, mummy bought me a new lunch box 😁 Fatima screamed as mummy gave her the new lunch box she bought for her for school. Do you like it, Mummy asked, I loved it Fatima shrieked to everyone who cared to listen. Fatima told of how beautiful and nice her school lunch box was, and the fact that it had the colors of her school uniform made her more excited about owning these " precious belongings," in her own words😁. Now let us rewind a bit.

Fatima is from a family of seven (7) with mother and father included and she happens to be the last child amongst two (2) sisters and two (2) brothers although she was not the last child for too long because her younger brother (the last child ) who balanced the equation of three (3) boys and three girls (3) came after five (5) years. Fatima was a lovely child, fair in complexion and also has a good height just like her grandmother, she attended one of the best schools in the era of the 2000s to top the icing on the cake she was also a very intelligent and cheerful child who always comes out amongst the best in her class.

On this particular day, Fatima came back from school with a gloomy face and was almost crying, she attended the school alone because her older siblings were far gone from secondary school and her school did not have a secondary school, then the other reason why she was left alone to come back from school was because her school was directly opposite her parents house that for sure is one of the major reason. Fatima, what is wrong? Mummy asked. Did anybody fight or beat you in school Mummy continued; with tears in Fatima's eyes, she explained how she mistakenly broke her lunch box and was sad she no longer had a lunch box. Stop crying, my baby mummy consoled her; tomorrow you will have to go to school without a lunch box but by the time you are back, I will have gotten a new one for you, mummy said. Fatima was so happy that she forgot her sorrows instantly and went out to play with a smile plastered all over her face.

She enjoyed the privileges of the last child for some time until it was short-lived and her younger brother came into the picture, all attention was taken from her and fixed on her younger brother Hassan although she was pained there was nothing she could do and life moved on so fast that her younger brother was ready to join her in school at the age of 1 year and six months, just like Fatima he knows his way around academically, he would cry for days every morning Fatima and the others leave for school. One day mummy decided it was time for Hassan to go to school and stop all his every morning crying finally Hassan got enrolled into Fatima's school but instead of going to school alone because it's just a stone's throw away mummy decided she would be the one taking both Hassan and Fatima to school and bringing them back.

It was the end of the holidays, and Fatima was so eager to go back to school but sad at the same time because she was going with Hassan, who had taken all the time and attention given to her. Fatima quickly bathed and put on her clothes, but she noticed something strange: she couldn't find her uniform in the usual place mummy keeps it. She asked her older siblings,s, and none seemed to give a satisfactory answer, so she went to ask mummy. Mummy! Fatima called out, I can't find my uniform it's no longer there where you keep it. Mummy, with a sad face, replied; Fatima, my child, you're no longer attending that school; why, mummy? She asked, you shouldn't know my child, but Fatima kept pressing day after day. Although she didn't like her new school because it was way different from her former school, she had to go to school because mummy said so.
After a term of attending her new school mummy called the kids together and told them of how daddy went bankrupt and that that was the reason they had to leave their school to a lesser one that mummy had daddy can afford. It was then it dawned on Fatima that all her siblings, including her, were affected but not Hassan because, according to mummy, "Hassan needs a good foundation in academics". It wasn't easy for the kids to take, but they had to, and they all did well in their endeavors. Fatima's older siblings are all graduates with Fatima in her finals as a mass communication student, while Hassan is studying medicine.

Sometimes it's good for parents to let the children know when they need to adjust. It's no always easy for parents taking care of their children.
