Not until their mum fell ill, she was diagnosed with cancer and it has become a full-blown one, a sickness she had been hiding from her children for a very long time all because she did not want them to panic, but here they were panicking and angry at the same time, panicking that their mother might die angry that she did not tell them about her ailment on time and here she was about to die with nothing else to do. Although there is chemotherapy, it's a fifty-fifty situation. She might live or die. That was when Adele felt the fury of her brothers it was like hell, their " once in a lifetime man " had agreed to help pay for the chemotherapy and hospital only on one condition which is still that Adele must marry him, she was torn between marrying this man, then save her mum and not marrying this man thereby allowing their mum die just like that. The debate went on for a very long time until the doctors told them that chemotherapy was no longer needed and they should just wait for their mum to die. Mummy watched as her sons pounced on her daughter but she was too weak to do anything about it.
The next day, the neighbors were awakened by the piercing scream of Adele and her brothers, and that was when the neighbors knew their mum was dead. They all came to console the newly turned orphans over the death of their mother. You killed her, Sam screamed, yes, you killed her Adele Sean affirmed. Mum would still be alive if you had married Mr. Bright, but here you are waiting for your Mr right, who is not even here to save you. You killed our mother Sean said again and stormed out of the house in anger with Sam following suit. Elvis was the calm one who was close to Adele and also close to his elder brothers, but they had a stronger grip on him; he went to where Adele sat sobbing to console her and reassure her that he was always by her side. Are you coming or not Elvis? Sean asked with a thunderous voice, and like a scaredy cat, he ran down to meet the others.
Adele felt guilt for a very long time. Her brothers were not helping matters as they kept on guilt-tripping her that their mum died because of her; meanwhile, they were all idle doing nothing, lazing around town. Or should I commit suicide? Adele thought aloud since there was nothing more to do in this life, my brothers are not giving me space to breathe I then it is best to fall into the river from the bridge and just end it all, maybe I might get to meet mummy in heaven and early the next morning Adele set of to the river and fell into the river drowned and died. That was how guilt from the death of her mum and the guilt-tripping from her brothers made her commit suicide.
