Vicente was very tired as he was exhausting his strength working on the project at hand. He is new in the organization and his first assignment was to create an Algorithm to convert crowds from other sites to the company's email address and also draft compelling emails to convert sales.
The organization deals with real estate as they revolve around rentals of apartments, selling of houses and land areas.
Vincente does not want to fail his first duty due to his top notch resume he was employed with though , Vicente is very good in this aspect but it is a different organization apart from the one he worked with which is work from home but was tempted with the pay revolving around this Hybrid job setup though he terminated his contract with other setup in other to focus and be productive.
He is to be in office on Mondays and Thursdays as other days are meant to be days to work on projects and meet targets from home.
Yes , “I did it “. He shouted confirming that hundreds of thousands of people have visited the company’s site in one week and thousands of sales have already been made. He saved up his work on the system , disconnecting his flash drive , switched off his Laptop and removed the flash drive.
And off he landed on his bed with his back and slept off straight up as it was late already.
Getting to work the second day , feeling at peace that the first project was done and dusted, he just noticed that people were just stealing glances at him. After greeting everyone and went to his office, he switched on his office system, brought out his flash drive and input it in the system and prepared his mind for another project then he received a call from his landline that the CEO , Mr Godfrey want to see him as there is an impromptu meeting at hand.
He stood up , sipped his cup of coffee and walked out of his office straight to the White room. The White room, so called , was an office for closed door meetings, it has tinted glasses in cubicle form and people outside can not see what is on inside but people inside can see everything outside. As he walked in , Mr Godfrey sat farther at the center opposite his direction and he was asked to have his seat.
Then Mr Godfrey says : “ welcome Mr Vicente, to the board of directors of this company. We have been discussing your first project which gave the best result the company ever had and this has made you to be known.” Vicente was given an accolade for his work well done and he was introduced to the six-men panel so to say and the meeting ended.
Ever since then he noticed the Managing Director, Miss Beverly always keeps an eye and tag on him. After three months , the company made lots of sales and money kept coming in while Vicente kept tags to his work giving a top notch performance back to back.
Then this is where the problem comes in , so many co-workers wanted to be like Vicente, especially Luis . Luis is the supervisor which handles projects and always finds it difficult to know how Vicente copes with time and his outstanding performance as well . As you know the statement that states:” all observers are always worried”. Luis started to have issues with Vicente as he believed that if Vicente continued like this , he would supersede him in the company and he stood to sabotage Vicente’s work . The results were not only the reason but Vicente's physical appearance which is alluring and his communicative skill which is top notch.
Luis is a womanizer and Vicente isn't, Luis drinks alcohol and talks a lot but Vicente drinks revolves around his coffee and Vicente is a composed person so they are different entities in totality. Luis started to compare himself with Vicente in his mind and used to tell others that Vicente is a pretender and pretender does the worst as he always backbites Vicente.
While Vicente on the other hand focuses on meeting his target to be financially stable and to settle down before thirty five years as Luis is not ready for that and puts all his attention on Vicente's.
What angered Luis the most about Vicente was that he noticed the Managing Director , Miss Beverly, likes Vicente the way she does in his presence but Vicente keeps it formal and Luis imagines being in Vicente’s shoes .
When he is angered to prime , he decides to put his bad intentions to work by always tampering with Vicente's projects after submission and complaining bitterly about Vicente's late incompetent act. This always put Vicente to check because he knows he usually do a proof check before submission and knew something is wrong big time but he is not the kind that argues so when Luis started his talks and condemnation, Vicente will just keep quiet , do a recheck on the project, correct the errors and submit it back.
At first , Vicente thought maybe his system had a virus or his flash drive had been corrupted so he looked into it. Then when it continues like that in which he has to recheck and submit twice on each project , he knew it must be from Luis but knew no reason why Luis decided to sabotage his work when he is not even competing with Luis and always acknowledged Luis as a boss.
Luis continue to do this and it triggers Vicente's to call the Managing Director, Miss Beverly to notice and she asked Vicente to send a soft copy of each project to him before submitting to Luis and after that , it happens again then Miss Beverly called both of them to her office and show Luis the Proto type of the project which made Luis lie then that maybe his own system has virus and he will go work on that immediately.
Leaving the office angrily that Vicente has the backup of the Managing Director, he planned to get at Vicente with any given opportunity. One day , Vicente left his office on a date lunch with Miss Beverly and Luis used this opportunity to enter Vicente's office , format Vicente’s system and steal his flash drive so that he can have all Vicente's works.
He then immediately goes to the security guard and bribes him off and deletes the camera footage and goes back to his office like nothing happened. When Vicente came back , he did not notice anything as he did not turn on the system as it was almost closing hour already, he thought his flash must has been kept in his bag and as his is pure hearted without suspecting anyone he left for home and it was when he got home that he noticed that his flash was missing and he thought he left it in his office.
The second day , he entered his office and searched for his flash and it was not found and he was now confused. He turned on the system to see that all his files , documents and project were all gone, then he raised an alarm by notifying everyone around. He decides to go check the camera footage to see where the problem might sprout out from and he noticed the time in which he was not on the seat was also missing. This triggers him showing that everything is not well and at first , he dropped a letter of change of appointment type knowing that someone is aiming at him in that office, he noted in the letter that if the company still needs his service, it should work on it internal conflict and also he will prefer working from home henceforth.
He received a reply the second day that the culprit had been caught and they accepted his offer to work from home for his safety as well while Luis was suspended for eight months and to resume without pay for another eight months and that serves him as his karma.
