Once upon a time. In the land of Avalon, there lived an ancient fortress. The home of dark magic. It was located deep within the forest, just near the borders of Avalon. This ancient fortress, along with the dark witches, troubled the kingdom of Avalon for many years. With their leader, Lord Arin, the witches were unstoppable. They dominated and subdued the whole of Avalon, their dark magic brooding all over the kingdom. The once beautiful, lively and peaceful kingdom of Avalon, full of life and power, turned into a desolated land full of otherworldly creatures and darkness.

The people who lived in the kingdom became enslaved to the dark rule of the witches. No one dared oppose or challenge them or risk being devoured by those otherworldly creatures. The people lived in fear of Lord Arin. No one dared roam the forest as it became unsafe. Rumors had it that that was where the dark creatures dwelt. Anyone who went in there never came back out dead or alive.

The ruler of Avalon, King Xarin, could not take it anymore. He had had enough of dark magic destroying their land, their crops, causing despair and destruction. His father, the former king of Avalon, King Xerina, had made a deal with the witches. Allowing them to do whatever they want as long as they didn't attack the castle. But Xarin thought his father a coward, acting out of fear and neglecting his people he was supposed to rule and protect.

Now being in charge, after taking over from his father who had ruled his kingdom out of fear of the dark witches. Xarin was always ready to fight against the dark witches. With a strong resolve burning in his heart, he started forming an army, a resistance. The people were willing to go into battle as they too had, had enough.

Little by little, King Xarin's army increased. King Xarin knew the battle wasn't going to be easy, but he was determined. Along with his trusted advisors, they devised a plan to infiltrate the ancient fortress and break through the barrier Lord Arin, the dark wizard, had set up. The army trained themselves day and night knowing what they were up against. The plan was to attack with full force. They wouldn't know what hit them.

After weeks of tremendous planning and training, it was time. King Arin had gathered all the information he needed to go into battle. On the set day, he stood before his army addressing them.

"The day we've all been waiting for has come". He started off speaking with power and authority.

" Today we fight, for our people, for our loved ones, for our freedom, for Avalon!" he shouted, raising his staff of authority.

"For Avalon!" The army chanted.

"As we march into the forest, dip your hands into the fire before you, it will give you protection against the dark magic" King Xarin said, dipping his own hands into the fire as an example.

King Xarin knew they had no chance against dark magic. All his soldiers were just mere mortals. So he spent days reading books about magic until one day he stumbled on an ancient magic book that had the knowledge of pure witches. The pure witches existed long ago. Centuries before the rise of the dark witches. History has it that they were the true witches, the founders of magic. Their powers were only used for good.

Until one of them turned against them, Zehila was his name, Lord Arin's great-great-grand father's. He opened the sacred book of dark magic that had been bound and cast away. Its darkness and power took over him, infecting and corrupting his mind. And soon enough, he raised his own army using his dark magic and killed all the pure witches, attacking them suddenly. The pure witches had no time to defend themselves, and many were killed in the battle. The council of pure witches gathered all their remaining powers into a ball of fire and enclosed it in a stone and buried it in the castle.

King Xarin had been searching all over the castle for the stone until two days ago he finally found it, buried deep underneath the castle.

As his army passed their hands through the fire, they had somehow tapped into the magic of the pure witches.

"Let's storm the castle!" the king shouted.

" Storm the castle" the people chanted back.

Soon after the war began, they had infiltrated the ancient fortress people, fighting with everything they had got. King Xarin ventured into the chambers where Lord Arin sat on his throne. King Xarin drew out his sword, and they began fighting. And soon enough, Lord Arin's power grew weaker as king Xarin's army broke down the barrier keeping the ancient fortress upright. The fortress was the core of Lord Arin's dark magic.

As the battle raged on, the people began destroying the fortress, weakening him the more. King Xarin delivered the final blow, striking him with his sword and piercing him directly in his heart. The whole fortress began to crumble, the dark magic wearing off. The army began to retreat, leaving the fortress to its destruction.
