One mistake will destroy your reputation

As cryptocurrencies and blockchain develop, more and more crypto-based projects emerge. One way to promote crypto projects is through airdrop programs. Many crypto hunters take advantage of the airdrop program to get additional income. The success of a project is when the crypto that is produced gets listed on a large exchange.

Narto is one of the crypto hunters. He is a trader who has a strong analysis of a project. To earn huge profits, he buys crypto from people participating in the airdrop program. He buys at a very low price and sells it again when the crypto is listed on the exchange.

Once upon a time, there was a crypto project which he said had the potential to generate a lot of profit. The project does not hold an airdrop, ICO, or pre-sale. The project is just a crypto mining project like Bitcoin. After the coin gets its mainnet, coins can be sent and traded P2P, even though they are not yet listed on the exchange.

Narto started looking for people who would sell the coins. He could make a profit by selling them back to other users. At that time, Narto already had many sellers. Every transaction is always smooth and safe. Many people recommend Narto as a trusted honest buyer.

One day, Narto got an error in analyzing coins. He bought coins in ICO which got a lot of loss. His entire capital is almost used up to buy another coin. Coincidentally, a woman named Ningsih wanted to sell crypto coins she had mined with her Smartphone for a year and a half. Actually, Ningsih doesn't want to sell the coin. But, he needs money to pay for her son's treatment at the hospital.

From the many recommendations Ningsih received, the woman contacted Narto via Telegram. Narto, who has run out of capital to buy coins, instead gets an idea to deceive Ningsih. When haggling over the price, an agreement was made. Narto offered a high price to buy Ningsih's coins. The woman was happy because someone wanted to buy her coins at a high price.

When the coins have been sent to the Narto wallet. Immediately the man blocked Ningsih's telegram account. The woman was shocked and could not believe that she had just been deceived by Narto. Even though, the proceeds from the sale of coins are for her son's medical expenses. Ningsih cries and doesn't know what to do. She reported the incident to a community group. Even people who had transacted with Narto were astonished. Even though Narto has been an honest buyer.

From Ningsih's complaints to people in the community group, and clear evidence. Those people also plan to catch Narto and will send him to prison. All information about Narto had been obtained. Within three days, Narto, who was drinking coffee at a shop belonging to his neighbor, was picked up by several members of the community who were escorted by several police officers. Narto was put in prison, and his name was blacklisted by the crypto community. No one wants to deal with him anymore because his reputation has changed to that of a con man even though he has conned people only once.

This is a nightmare scenario, and a cautionary tale. You describe the intricacies of the coin exchange well. It would be good to know if the woman ever got the money for her son's operation. But that isn't the story. The story is the swindle (not really a mistake). Narto should be banned for life.

Thank you for sharing this interesting story with us. In the beginning it reads a little bit like a nonfiction piece. There might be a better way of introducing the topic to draw the reader in. Think about that. You are the author, of course, and that choice is yours. We very much appreciate that you are active in the community and support other writers.

Thank you sir. I only write fiction short stories with the theme of trusted.

A story about crypto in the life of an average buyer and seller, I love the whole concept.
Narto allowed a moment of weakness destroy his long standing reputation, and trust which the others had in him. Unfortunately he had to pay the price of being untrustworthy.

Also are the police allowed to involve themselves in crypto related crimes in your country?, because in mine the whole crypto crime concept is not so straightforward here

In my country No. Regulations regarding crypto-related crimes will not be handled by government institutions. However, since this is just a fictional story, it doesn't matter if I involve the police in handling this case. 😁😁😁

Thanks so much for dropping by and reading. I really appreciate your comments.

@radenkusumo666 The beginning of your story sounded like you were writing an article about cryptocurrency. Then suddenly you have the hero of the story or should we say the villain Narto shown cheating the poor distressed woman. This is not good behaviour, probably this hoax story will not be accepted by the community, but this is my personal opinion, the decision will be taken by the senior most knowledgeable admins of the community.

hello sir, this is a fictional story that I made up myself. This is not news or a journal. This is only fiction and not a true story
