Greeting!
Sometimes ago, most precisely in the year 2018, I met a lady whose name is Janet, but because of my shy nature, I could not actually talked to her and asked her out. Though, I love her so much, but because of what has happened to me in the past while trying to engage a lady named Aanu, I have since then decided not to ask anybody out until I'm ready for marriage. And this was because of how Aanu turned me down when I asked her out. Though, I have not been in the game before and maybe that's why I was not so strong when it comes to being turned down by ladies.
So, when I met with this new lady at class in one of our lecture day, something struck my mind and I was very sure of something bringing both of us together, though, it was circumstances that led me to meeting this new lady, as I couldn't cope with seeing the lady I have once asked out but turned me down sitting and playing with other guys in the same row and class we both attended. So, I took a frantic decision of leaving that row to another row and at this new row, I coincidentally sat beside the Janet girl I have talking about, though, the kind of the hair she made, would not allow me to see her very well, but there's a connection immediately I sat with her and in my mind, I had it in mind that I would collect his phone number and asked for her name after the class, just to do online follow up, but lo and behold, I couldn't after the class as I was afraid of what her response would be. Though, we had little conversation when she asked me to please borrow her my note to copy some of those note she had not copied. She asked by saying, could you please borrow me your note? And as if I was expecting her to asked for my note, I quickly responded by saying, no problem, you can have it. I gave her my note to copy and whatever she couldn't see clearly, she would call my attention to it, by asking me, what did you write here? And it was then that I would explain to her. It was seriously a nice time with her on this particular day, though, I was unable to have her number, but thank God I asked for her name which she told me to be Janet.
After all that happened in class, I went straight to my hostel and when I got there, I met a friend of mine, Solomon by name, whom I narrated everything that happened in class with, thank God Solomon was aware of the girl that turned me down before this one that I just met. So, after my whole narration, Solomon put a question forward to me and asked me like this, How far? Did you know have her number? When he asked me this question, there's nothing I could say than to tell him the truth as I couldn't lie. I then responded to the Solomon's question by saying, I didn't have her number as I was afraid of collecting the number from her. When Solomon heard this, he was angry with me and he hissed on me, he said, Samson, you know how many we are in that class, I bet it with you, you will not see that girl again, as you have lost the only avenue of reaching out to her, which is via her phone number. When I heard this, I was sober and my mood changed as I too deeply thought of it. So, I took it as normal and decided to focus on my study instead of wasting my time on relationship.
Hmmm, but as God would have it, I met the lady again, in the same class and for the same lecture, it was like a surprise to me, when someone sat beside me and tapped me just to say hi to me, when I saw her, i was happy and made up my mind to summon courage and collect her contact, but after the class was over, i couldn't collect or have the contact again just because of fear of what she would say, it's so painful to me as i have yet missed another golden opportunity of having this beautiful lady's contact, but this time around, i decided not to relate what happened to Solomon my best friend. This course was a four unit course and we used to have it four times a week, so, the next time we had the class, even with the rowdiness that we used to have when trying to enter or have a seat in the class just because of the over population of the number of students making use of the class, I was still able to sit beside this pretty lady, when the lady saw me, she said, you again and I said yes, we were both surprised as to what looks like a coincidence, but to me it was not, as I have had the connection the first day i met her, but to her, it might actually be a coincidence. So, after the third time of our meeting, I still had it in mind to collect her number but all to no avail. So, as fate would have it, we were still able to sit next to each other on the fourth day which was a friday that rounded up the class for the week. So, when we sat together, I asked her about her previous semester result, at first, she wanted to lie, but it's later she confessed to me that she's not actually our course mate as she was a year senior, she told me.that she had a carry over in the course EGL 404 and for that fact, she was to be coming to class in case of any impromptu test, so when I heard, I felt so sorry for her , but she responded that such was life, she then asked me if I could be of help to us which I immediately said yes to. She said, she needed someone that can be helping her with information on the class proceedings, when she said this, I told her there's no problem as I would be willing to be of help, she said she would have been coming, but she just got a teaching job in town and as a result, she would not be coming for lectures, I told her to not worry as she needed the job to take care of herself and her family. But before she left, I told her that even if I would be of help to her, I didn't have her contact and that was how she willingly gave me her contact. What a coincidence?
So, after everything that happened for the first four day of our meeting in class, the lady decided not to be coming to campus again to receive lecture, instead, I was the one giving her update on the ongoing in the class, but as we were talking on phone, I was feeling for her, but I didn't know may the same was the case with her. So, on a particular day, I called her and told her that I have something important to discuss with her, so, she promised to come on campus for the important conversation, though, the time was during our lecture free week as we used to have it before our exams. So, on that particular day, I was with a friend at the faculty of law, reading together, so, when I told Samuel of my motive, he encouraged me and told me to summon courage, so, when Janet came, I went to meet her at one of the eatery on campus and I profess my love to her by saying, Janet, you look so beautiful, I would like us to be friends, but she responded by saying, but we are friends already, when she said this, I told her that I wanted us to be more than a friend, but her response then poured cold water to my heart as she said, that's not possible as she cannot date me most especially because of me being her junior, when I heard this, I persuaded her, but all to no avail. So, it's after this that she left, mind you, I have told us about the lady that turned me down earlier before, this is another lady that has turned me down, on that particular day, I could not do anything as I was not just happy, it was after she left that I called a friend, Solomon and narrated what she said to me, when Solomon heard this, he asked me whether she told me she had someone else in her life, but I could remember she didn't say anything of such in our conversation.what she said was for us to be the best of friends, so when I responded to Solomon question in such a manner, he was happy and adviced me to keep on pestering her, this I was doing till the day we both wrote the exam she carried together and on that particular day, maybe she was expecting me to re profess my love to her I wouldn't know, but I was seeing the sign, so, immediately we finished the exam at around 6pm, we both went to the motion ground just to bade her farewell and it was there I told her to give me a chance and with no stress, she said yes and that was how the journey started.
Now, after the exam, our result was processed and in the course of NYSC mobilization, we had our registration separately and lo and behold, when the call up letter came out, we both were shocked as we could not believe our eyes nor our ear to what has happened. Though she was the one that went to collect the call up.letter from the cafe as I have left for Osogbo a south western state in Nigeria, so, I got home very late and my battery was even low, so,.she could not reach me, so, as she could not reached me, she has called my younger brother and told.her that she's collected the call up letter and that we were posted to the same state, when I got home and the message was delivered to me, I was so amazed as I could not even believed it, immediately I heard what my brother said, I put a call to her using my dad's phone and she said it was true, what a coincidence again? So, we both left for camp and after the three days on camp, we both received our posting letters and to our surprise, we were both posted to the same place and the same PPA, another form of coincidence? So, both of us served in the same state, local government, community and even the same PPA. Though a village, but we both enjoyed our service year staying in the Christian corper's family house where we met great and good people, including my hive referral @kingsleyy. It was a long journey to knowing each other better.
So, after the service year, we went back to our various places and I taught her the business i was into and that's what both of us are now doing. Just a year plus ago, we both got married to each other on the 23rd of December 2023.
