"Okay, listen up, there's going to be a test tomorrow so better read", the lecturer yelled from the front of the class. It was a rainy day, every other sane human being was either still in bed cuddling their pillow or having a cup of tea with bread that morning, then there Treasure attending an 8 am class.
"Treasure!", a friend of his called from the back waving her left hand in the air. "Are you not staying for the class meeting?", she continued as he approached.
"I would but I have to get back home, I have a visitor plus I need to study for the test", he replied. He was lying, the only thing on his mind was changing his clothes that would soon be soaked by the rain, climbing into his bed, and taking another morning nap. The rain poured heavily from the grey sky, he stepped out of the hall and rush to the gate to quickly pick a cab back home.
"Why didn't you just wait in school till the rain stopped?", his neighbor asked as he walked into the compound. He didn't say a word, he just glanced at her and walked straight into his room.
He changed out of his clothes and climbed into bed for a well-deserved nap. The rain poured for three hours after he got into bed. His nap was interrupted by his ringing phone on the bedside table, he picked it up, pulling it closer to his ear.
"Hello?', he said.
"Please do you have materials for tomorrow's test?", the voice replied from the phone.
"From the class this morning?', he asked.
"Yes, please do you have", the voice asked
"Sure, I'll send them to you now", Treasure replied, hanging up the call.
It was time to read, he stood up from his bed to the kitchen, grabbing what was left of the meal he prepared the night before. He opened up his laptop and began to study. The course was an easy course, easy enough that he didn't need to read the entire night. He studied for a while and went on to play video games.
He woke up the next morning to a bunch of missed calls from his friend.
"No need to call back, I'll see him in school", he thought as he got ready to shower. The sun was bright, he took it to be a sign of having a good day.
"Guy, didn't you see my calls?", his friend asked as he walked into the lecture hall.
"I didn't hear it ring, I was sleeping at that time like every other person", he jokingly replied.
"You sent me the wrong materials", he said.
"I didn't", Treasure said checking his phone, "I sent you Land law materials", he continued.
"You..."
His friend was interrupted by the lecturer who stepped in.
"Wait, why is Mr. Victor here", Treasure asked his friend.
"That's what I was trying to tell you when I called you in the night, we have Urban renewal, not land law", he replied.
Treasure's face turned darker as he took his seat ready to write a test he wasn't ready for.
"Take your seats and bring out a sheet of paper", the lecturer announced.
The air felt thinner all of a sudden. His friend could tell something was wrong.
Hey don't worry man, I got you", he said as he smiled at Treasure.
