Everybody bowed down to the king, everybody except Angolia for her captors could not break her spirit. She along side her people were imprisoned after the captors came. She was a fighter, a good fighter at that but they were outnumbered a hundred to one.
"Everybody will bow to the new king, this is your new home and you must obey the king", one of the guards screamed.
Angolia was strong hearted, she was going to get her and her people out of there one way or the other.
"Bow to your king!!", the guard screamed at Angolia.
"This man is not our king, he is a tyrant and I will never bow to him".
"Just bow Angolia, we would plot our escape later", one of her sisters whispered.
"I like this one, she would be a good warrior but we need to break her spirit first, nothing a week in the pit can't solve", king Irim spoke with gesture.
Angolia was led to the pit and her sisters sent off to God knows where. She was still determined to get out of there, along with her sister back to their village if there was anything left there. It was cold and lonely, the moon shined just a little corner of the pit. The sand was cold, she had nothing but her thoughts and her will to keep her going.
Four days in the pit was not enough to break her spirit, all she did in that time was set up a plan for her escape. She prayed to her gods to give her the strength and courage she needed for this fight.
"Wake up Angolia, wake up!!"
"Who's there?"
"You called, I answered"
"I didn't call anybody"
"You prayed to me and I have come to answer you"
"Ashim!?"
Ashim was the warrior spirit of her people, they worshipped her amongst other gods.
"You are a fighter Angolia and I have heard your plea, you will have my strength in your coming battle for your freedom"
"Is this a dream?
"No my child, everything you see now is real. Now get up, there's work to be done!"
Angolia found blood rush through her veins, she was able to pry the lock open.
The men were wasted, sleeping from the spirit they drank in honor of the villages they raided. Something told her to go left, she found her people in a room.
"Quick, we have to go"
"But the men.."
"Leave them to me, hurry"
She led her people through a cave she felt she knew before, it was the spirit of Ashim.
"But if we escape, they'll just come back to find us again"
"Strike the dam with your fist"
Angolia didn't hesitate, she struck the dam granting passage between her the the captors.
"How did you do that?"
"Now is not the time for questions, run!!"
The noise woke their captors up.
"Stop! Stop!!", the guards shouted but it was too late, Angolia and her people were far gone.
"It would take weeks before they fix that dam, we need to warn the others and ally villages, we need to find sanctuary somewhere else"
Angolia and her people were free, with enough time to find a new home far away from their captors.
