Hello everyone, it's a pleasure to participate in the ink well prompt. Thanks to the admin for this insightful topic “REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE"
Sometimes life does not offer us what we need, but what we receive from life could be to meet the present condition.
I am the fourth child in the family of seven, four girls, three boys plus my dad and mum. Since my family background was not so strong financially we decided to do all we can to survive. So I was virtually selling everything like perfumes, body spray, deodorants, clothes like shirts, trousers and ties etc. Two years after I got admission into the university to study petroleum engineering, funds were not coming as usual,it was difficult to pay my acceptance and school fees. A day to closing date I got a miracle ,that connected me to an old friend where I got a job opportunity in the hotel which helped me to pay for my acceptance and school fees,it was quite frustrating to work and go to school, but I was left with no option so I tried my best to save money which I used to rent a shop and I began my boutique business.it was a happy moment for my family at least something good came out way. I traveled from Uyo to Aba to purchase goods for my shop, three years later I began to travel to Lagos to purchase goods. On one occasion I traveled to Lagos, purchased goods and usual and came back safe and sound. Because of my academic work I had employed the services of a sales boy to manage the shop when I left for school.

Three days after my trip I left the shop in the morning to attend lectures coming back in the evening to see an empty shop, unbelievable,I asked my sales boy and he told me that some men came around and told him that they gave me money to purchase goods for them on my last trip so they put a call across and he spoke with me (in quote) and I instructed him to give them whatever the want then he should write a list of things they carried and keep it for me, believe me it was a long list, the shop was empty, all the goods gone.I loss balance and i fell on the floor and i couldn't pray but tears were rolling down my eyes.1.2 million naira gone just like that, part of the goods were debt from my customers. Hmm I got advice from friends to arrest the boy but rather I asked him to leave everything in the hands of God. What a tragedy, depressed, confused, headache, reflection.i managed to sale the shelves and other things in the shop to pay the debt.i could not pay for the shop rent,so I had to close the shop and suspended studies. What an irony a shop owner now a hawker life was horrible.that experience taught me a life lesson that you are the sole custodian of your dreams and vision.
Everytime I remember that experience I shed tears, moody for days. Tears are rolling from my eyes as I write this story.it is really a bitter experience.

The journey actually ended well, although I went through a lot ,subjected to humiliating lifestyle like hawking on the streets, selling at traffic lights.
I still graduated from the university. Thanks to the Almighty God.
