(From a Special Dream of his)
So let's talk dreams...
Don't you find em interesting? I mean, just think about it for a sec... we go to sleep and then all of a sudden, by some unexplained phenomena, we suddenly find ourselves in another world!
Fun fact: There is really no logical explanation for why we, as humans, dream! It's just something that happens! Just one of those many unexplainable mysteries of life (like why some people put pineapple on pizzas) that even science can't explain!
Anyway, I personally, have always found dreams to be quite intriguing. Call me superstitious, delusional, or even downright mental but, I do believe that dreams could actually be gateways to other planes(worlds) and realities - one far beyond the human scope. And sometimes, we find that these dreams, can often give us knowledge/intuitions into our current, past, and future lives — just as it did with this particular dream of mine.
The Dream
This happened about a month ago: So there I was, in the dream, sitting on a bench and reading a book; the park filled with so much life and beauty: swans dancing by the lake, birds chirping and singing sweet melodious songs in the sky, and rabbits chasing butterflies on the grass. And even the squirrels and chipmunks, whom had all been busy twittering up in the trees this whole time, sang too a great many deal of tunes!"
There also with me, was a little girl playing around with the animals. I suspected she must've been around the age of 3. She had very nice silky blonde hair with a pretty blue bow attached to it; pale white skin, and eyes, a staggering color of hazel. She wore a pretty peach dress and had a very warm smile on her face. And though, she did not speak a word to me, I found myself taking a much liking to the girl and fancied her presence a lot.
Hmm mmm... as it often is with dreams, I could've sworn I spent an eternity in that park but, I much suspect it would've been merely a couple hours of REM sleep.
Ah, and as the sun set upon a breath taking landscape, I watched as the girl suddenly walked up to me, and happily spoke: "It's time to go Daddy!"
You know, I'm not gonna lie, I was a little bit startled by that sudden remark of hers. I mean for one thing, it was clear by the apparent difference in our appearance, that we could scarcely be related! But then like an arrow swinging to a bull's eye, it hit me — I WAS DREAMING!
You know that sudden nervousness, fear, and excitement you feel when your normal dream turns into a lucid one?? Yeah... that's exactly how I felt then!
Oh, so this is a dream!
I thought, my countenance changing in accordance to the sudden realization. But the girl, suddenly picking my uneasy demeanor, quietly muttered:
What's wrong Daddy?
Still unease but desperately trying not to startle the girl, I replied:
No darling, it's nothing...
Then tried my best to reassure her that everything was ok, despite the fact that somewhere at the back of my mind, I just couldn't stop thinking how the girl was just a dream character and not really an actual person!
It didn't take long but soon, that sudden dream awakening realization passed and, at length, it became a normal dream once again!
Later, I and the girl sat on the bench together holding hands as she pointed to the sunset and said to me one last time:
This has been beautiful daddy... I love you!
And once the sun had set completely, I awoke back in my room, eyes filled with tears of happiness. Grabbing my journal, I quickly wrote down everything single detail I could remember from the dream - from the pattern of the autumn leaves, to that sweet angelic voice of the girl.
Hmm... You know even till this very day, I still think fondly of that dream; so fondly, infact, that simply writing the dream down on paper wasn't merely enough for me! And so, after a short composing process, I decided to write a short but beautiful waltz, completely inspired by the dream!
The waltz in all it's entirety, holds a very special place in my heart. It has been written in the key of B Flat Major and has the light hearted characteristics that I find, resemble that of the little girl's demeanor in some way.
I call it Lily's waltz because as she kept playing around in that park, there was this one flower she was very obsessive over - a lily!
Although, I am unsure of the true meaning behind the dream: perhaps it was a premonition I was going to adopt a kid later in the future, perhaps it was a final closure to a past life encounter; or perhaps it was even random at best! Regardless, if there's one thing I've learnt from this experience, it's that: dreams — at the very end — are simply just realities that exists beyond our imagination.
If that makes sense lol👀...
Oh and also, you can make a pretty catchy tune out of them!
