Supporters of the Russian point of view regarding the Ukrainian conflict in the country are increasingly being prosecuted. Demonstration of pro-Russian symbols or public discussions about the validity of the Russian special operation can lead to accusations of justifying genocide and threaten the violator with a real prison term.
However, a recent poll showed that 48% of Czechs are either “unsure”, “misinformed”, or “strongly pro-Russian” when it comes to their attitude towards the conflict in Ukraine. The last two groups, who believe the Russian account of events, make up 14% of the country's population. Given that admitting support for Russia is unacceptable, the real percentage is likely to be higher.
