It’s rubilu here with another game review. I think am beginning to love games very much but am not very attracted to games which are not action-packed. I love to kill enemies in my games so with a few interactions with this new game am about to play, I hope I can get to enjoy my time playing it.
The game am going to play today is not a shooting game; at least you know not to get over-excited over killing zombies. But I still think the skate hive game with be worth it. Before opening the game, I did see a few gifs in the contest announcement it’s a skating game as you can guess from its name.

So let’s get into it;
According to the announcement post by ocd, Quest For Stoken is a 2D game that has a lot of action-packed in it. It features a guy on a skateboard holding an American flag and riding through challenges. He or she has to go underground and find a private key which is his only way to escape.
The game is about to launch and I am sure I will have a lot of fun trying it out.
When I clicked on the link this is what opens.
As with hive games, we have the feature too long in directly using your hive username. For now, they don’t have the option to log in with hive username but from the interface, it’s indicated that the feature is coming soon.
Below the login is a section for review. This part you can read what people think about the game and so far so good I think a lot of people are enjoying the game.
So for now we are only playing as guests.
To play click on the space bar.
Now when I saw click on the space bar I kept on wondering if it was available on mobile. I didn’t try opening it on mobile though as I generally play my games on a laptop.
After pressing the space bar you have to enter your username to log in.
Below the log-in column, I can also write my review or something that I want to about the game. This is where I had an issue with the game. I pressed the space bar and it didn’t want to take me to the game. I don’t know if I should call it a bug or glitch but then I struggled before figuring it out.
After pressing the space bar a couple of times it took me to the game.
The Basic Keys For Gameplay
The space bar - This key is used for jumping
The forward arrow key /D key-Its used for moving forwards
The back arrow key/ A key-It’s used for moving back
Press the space bar twice- this allows you to Jim twice
The down arrow -This key is used for ducking or we can say swerving.
The shift key -allows you to use the sword.
Z key- Used to protect yourself by using the shield.
R Key- Takes you back to the homepage
One other problem I have is why the sword function is placed on the shift key. Remember when you press the shift five times it turns on sticky keys.
This should have an option where you can change the keys to suit how you want them. To use the sword I had to turn off the sticky keys feature in settings.
Gameplay
Now we know what the keys do. Let’s play.
Since am new to the game I died a couple of times. The first try took me less than 10 seconds to die here.
As I progressed I got a hang of it. I killed my first monster here and boy I just had to show off lol. I think this was where my score moved from 0 to 50.
I also got some coins. I think it’s a good addition. It shows killing it was worth it.
At a point, something was throwing something but it seems I couldn’t get past that side. I couldn’t even see what it was.
Let’s see if I can get past that side. What it threw easily took something out of me. So I had to dodge it or cut it with my sword.
As I tried to get into that side I was killed and spectacularly I was taken into a different world.
Oh, I think I made a mistake. I was killed initially but the world didn’t change because I was killed there. I had come to the end of that world.
So now it seems I’ve gotten a hang of it. Let’s see if I can play it for a long time without dying.
Problems I encountered while playing.
I stated a few of them above, but I will like to list all of them here.
The first one has to do with the glitch at the beginning of the game. Who knows it might not be a glitch but for a new user you because confused as to how to start the game cause when you press the space bar it doesn’t work immediately. You need to press it a couple of times before it works.
The other one has to do with the homepage. I don’t know why the review page is there but it serves as a distraction to a new user. I was confused the first time cause I thought you needed to input your username before you play.
The other problem has to do with the shield. A shield is supposed to give you protection. It’s able to protect me from the damage of the monsters but it’s not able to protect me from simple objects thrown at me. I also think you shouldn’t be immune to hits just because you are holding a shield. Maybe the shield should have a timeline.
The other problem has to do with why you can’t change the keys. I should be able to customise it to suit my own playing style.
maybe it’s me but I think the lifespan is too short. It feels like you are playing at a professional level right away. Maybe there should be beginner, and professional levels so that you choose.
Things I like about Quest for stoken.
From the start, the graphics look very basic but it’s brilliant. It’s the perfect design for a game like quest for stoken.
The monsters are also beautifully designed.
It looks like a real quest game with the skateboard feature and also a sword.
I like the background music
I would have loved the life part but then I think it’s too wicked for beginners. But if it’s at the professional level then why not?
I like that even though it’s not integrated with hive yet, it looks to promote hive with the hive logo at the top left.
The quest for stoken game is an interesting game. From a far distance, it looks like those average games but I bet you it’s way more than that. If it’s an adventure you are looking for while having fun then I think quest for stoken is just for you.
Have a nice time playing this wonderful game. Am sure after a few bug fixes you will even enjoy it more.
