Singleton: Only One of Every Card

Greetings everyone and welcome to another GU post. This post is about a format we had a week or so back called Singleton. This mode was like regular ranked except you could only use one copy of every card. This made a lot of combo decks harder to achieve and required many decks to use creative removals or bodies to replace 2nd copies of tried and true staples.

The Decklist: Highlander Atlants

I played highlander atlants and did pretty good, hanging in ED and Mythic. The deck performed well and had a variety of tools to deal with various situations relating to bodies and spells. A rather interesting highlander list to run and I'll probably be running something similar the next time it rolls back around. Deck list here

Talking Tidbits: Fun, but...

The mode itself was really fun to play through, it was nice to have to infer cards around the entire pool for gods instead of the same BiS decks we always see littered everywhere with the same staples entirely throughout. It was really cool seeing people build creatively in a limited format. BUT...

The matchmaking let you que into whichever rank. It might not have felt fun to get clubbed by a guy numerous ranks higher than you in the new mode, but I also understand they need to fill the matchmaking que. It is what it is. Not a huge deal overall and I still had fun in the mode aside from this one hinderance. Thanks for the continued support everyone, and I'll be seeing you our there in Eucos (usually in formats).

Great post, the experience with the Singleton format was well highlighted, especially the creativity and diversity needed to put together decks like Highlander Atlants.
