The God's Unchained team released emotes a couple of months ago, and I wanted to write something light-hearted about it. With years of experience using league of legends emotes, I thought I am uniquely qualified in letting you know how to get a mental edge on your opponents utilizing the emote system. Fair warning, this post may trigger your dark toxic side, so tread carefully.
Apple "Hi" Emote
This is a versatile little emote, the most apparent being saying hello to your opponent at the start of the game. But don't be fooled; this apple got a sinister side. You could also use it to say HELLO? what are you doing? When your opponent plays a card, that makes no sense. I personally like to use it when my opponent has a stacked board, and I clear it with a removal spell such as "The Hunt" it works with most removals, and you get into your opponent's head.
Card-Hand Emote
This is a straightforward emote, where you can let your opponent know that he is taking way too long to play his turn. Then again, every coin has two sides; I sometimes use it to annoy my opponent right at turn one, using this emote on my turn to act as if I have had the luck of the draw. You could also do it mid-game to frustrate your opponent and get in his head.
"Niiice" Emote
Using this emote correctly may cause your opponent to rage quit mid game, I have given you a fair warning. Even though it intends to let your opponent know they played a good turn, I use it to taunt my opponent at the right times when I know I have a counter to it. I do this, especially with death players where, if I have that "Nefarious Briar" to take out his "Necrocepter" turn four, I will emote nice when he plays it, just to take it away. "Cursed Obelisk" into "Canopy Barrage" combo is also another noteworthy "Niiice" trade. And now whenever you "Niiice" emote your opponents on edge, or he straight up leaves the game, your welcome.
"Noooo" Emote
This is very similar to the "Niiice" emote though it is to sike out your opponent, rather than actually being bummed. I rarely get to reverse psychology my opponent, but this is my go-to emote when I do. The other day I had my back against a wall, an opponent with a full board late game, and I had "Henver, Grim Shuck" in my hand. I had single digit hp, and he thought he had me dead to rights; I was spamming "Noooo" emotes just to sike him out next turn playing "Henver" and winning the game. There are other mid-game sike outs with this emotes you can do to get your opponent on tilt.
"Doofus" Emote
The "doofus" emote is the one that you use to taunt the opponent or call yourself stupid for play a bad turn. I usually avoid using this emote as I have realized it has become the Gods Unchained communities most annoying emote; using it will most likely get your emote game silenced. Use this emote with caution as it will only annoy your opponent into silencing you.
"GG" Emote
The cute cat emote is meant to be the Good game emote for the game. More or less underwhelming, but it could be utilized in some creative ways, such as using it at the start of the game to taunt your opponent or using it near the end of an easy game, just to make sure your opponent know that it was ggez.
Hope you guys like my explanation of the emotes and how to use them correctly to get a mental edge on your opponent. Please don't spam emotes; use them wisely. Let me know how you use them in your games to get into your opponent's head.
