Nature Card Breakdown, Divine Order Set (March 2022)

in #hive-1732863 years ago

31.png

This set is a good indicator of how the meta played out for nature thus far, as both new and old players alike have more accessibility to this set. You can see cards like brazen moose take a back seat after the passing of the torch to more control variations, thus the meta giving way to cards such as sage of renewal. As always, you can find the spreadsheet of all the stats at the bottom. That said, let's dive into the nature divine order breakdown.

2.png

Low-Hanging Fruit

This card has seen a meteoric rise in play in the past months, as it has almost tripled its play rate since December of last year. What's not to like about this card, early game removal baked into an early game body on the arena.

All

  • Play Rate - 38.20%
  • Win Rate - 54.50%
  • Games played - 626,706

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 62.40%
  • Win Rate - 49.70%
  • Games played - 146,108

Price - $0.09

3.png

Feral Cat

With low-hanging fruit being there, this card has seen its value drop this month. It could still be played as an early game removal, yet it doesn't have the oomph factor like low-hanging fruit does.

All

  • Play Rate - 3.80%
  • Win Rate - 51.70%
  • Games played - 61,810

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 0.60%
  • Win Rate - 39.50%
  • Games played - 1,315

Price - $0.02

4.png

Blood and Bone

People have figured this card out and are staying far away from adding it to their decks. It has fallen in play rates in all tiers of play, and its win rate has followed suit. I am keeping hope for a rework before the set is locked at the end of May. There are far too many better card draw options or nature players.

All

  • Play Rate - 3.40%
  • Win Rate - 49.90%
  • Games played - 55,463

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 0.20%
  • Win Rate - 34.70%
  • Games played - 525

Price - $0.02

5.png

New Growth

The card has seen a minor uptick in play after receiving a buff, although it is still suited for your void. It can be used in a fast-paced aggro deck, and that is where I have encountered this card.

All

  • Play Rate - 2.70%
  • Win Rate - 49.80%
  • Games played - 44,543

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 0.40%
  • Win Rate - 39.20%
  • Games played - 846

Price - $0.02

7.png

Finnian Fruitbearer

This card boasts the best win rate in mythic tier play in this set. Even after the nerfs, it has strong. It is a value card for a two-drop, and you could get even more from it mid-game by giving it a frontline.

All

  • Play Rate - 11.50%
  • Win Rate - 54.60%
  • Games played - 189,035

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 29.60%
  • Win Rate - 51.20%
  • Games played - 69,237

Price - $17.96

6.png

Crescent Werewolf

It is interesting to theory craft this card with an aggro wild early game deck as it will refresh one mana every time you play a wild creature. If you stack your deck with one drop wilds, you could have a blast. that said, its still suffering from a low play rate in all tiers of play.

All

  • Play Rate - 3.50%
  • Win Rate - 51.70%
  • Games played - 57,129

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 2.20%
  • Win Rate - 44.40%
  • Games played - 5,219

Price - $0.06

14.png

Blazing Talisman

Blazing talisman got a slight buff a few patches ago, and thus, it has seen a boost in play rate. In my opinion, it is still in the shadow of relics such as the jaguar staff and faeflame blade.

All

  • Play Rate - 6.80%
  • Win Rate - 51.00%
  • Games played - 112,372

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 2.40%
  • Win Rate - 39.50%
  • Games played - 5,675

Price - $0.13

10.png

Rabid Bear

This card is still a core piece in big beast deck variations. Although with the CSR (Core Set Refresh) there were three costs that got buffs, such as Managamr and Freya, which took away playtime from this bear this month.

All

  • Play Rate - 31.80%
  • Win Rate - 53.80%
  • Games played - 522,375

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 37.40%
  • Win Rate - 47.40%
  • Games played - 87,554

Price - $0.06

12.png

Celestial Stag

The premier card draw options for nature players it boasts the highest play rates in all levels of play. It is found in 80% of nature decks; that is what you call card draw dominance. Let's see if this moon deer can be knocked off its pedestal with the incoming set Mortal Judgement.

All

  • Play Rate - 47.20%
  • Win Rate - 54.40%
  • Games played - 774,764

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 80.60%
  • Win Rate - 49.90%
  • Games played - 188,530

Price - $2.21

11.png

Moonlight Charm

This relic has taken a back seat this month, with the play rate plummeting in all tiers. This is due to more effective relics being present in the meta, such as Jaguar staff, faeflame blade, and even staff roots.

All

  • Play Rate - 19.60%
  • Win Rate - 52.50%
  • Games played - 321,379

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 8.30%
  • Win Rate - 42.00%
  • Games played - 19,381

Price - $0.39

8.png

Sip from the Spring

This card is only seen in lower tiers of play this month as it only has a 2% play rate in mythic. It doesn't suit the meta at all, and hopefully, the card will regain some playtime in the future.

All

  • Play Rate - 8.10%
  • Win Rate - 50.80%
  • Games played - 132,722

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 2.70%
  • Win Rate - 41.30%
  • Games played - 6,324

Price - $0.02

28.png

Ominous Burrow

Noting has really changed for this card even after the buff it received. It has still a low play rate and is a very niche card.

All

  • Play Rate - 2.60%
  • Win Rate - 52.80%
  • Games played - 43,125

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 1.80%
  • Win Rate - 46.70%
  • Games played - 4,206

Price - $0.41

9.png

Moonbeam

You won't be using this card unless you are running a frenzy deck, which this set promotes. There are better removal spells for nature players.

All

  • Play Rate - 7.40%
  • Win Rate - 52.00%
  • Games played - 121,945

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 3.50%
  • Win Rate - 43.10%
  • Games played - 8,179

Price - $0.02

13.png

Spring's Harvest

Like many other cards in this set, this card has taken hit in play rate. With celestial stag being the premier card draw option for nature players, there is no room for another three mana cost card for card draw.

All

  • Play Rate - 7.30%
  • Win Rate - 51.00%
  • Games played - 120,002

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 2.60%
  • Win Rate - 42.40%
  • Games played - 6,068

Price - $0.02

15.png

Aspect of the Pangolin

It's an annoying card to deal with; the good news for all of you it has taken a dip in play rate this month. It is definitely still viable in this meta if you want to sneak this card into your deck.

All

  • Play Rate - 17.00%
  • Win Rate - 51.10%
  • Games played - 278,668

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 3.10%
  • Win Rate - 41.10%
  • Games played - 7,183

Price - $0.05

18.png

Moon-Crazed Cyclops

This card has seen a slow down in pay rate. Although if you are running a big beast variation or a mid-ranged deck, this cards slots in well for a four mana cost card.

All

  • Play Rate - 9.80%
  • Win Rate - 52.70%
  • Games played - 160,336

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 8.90%
  • Win Rate - 46.90%
  • Games played - 20,812

Price - $0.74

17.png

Spiny Porcupine

This porcupine has seen a significant fallout with mythic players. It is still run in lower tiers, although, in my opinion, it is a weak card in this meta. If you want to have some fun, pair this with the aspect of the pangolin and buff it up with guerilla training; see your opponents squirm.

All

  • Play Rate - 10.20%
  • Win Rate - 51.20%
  • Games played - 167,690

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 1.50%
  • Win Rate - 39.20%
  • Games played - 3,424

Price - $0.25

16.png

Starving Sabertooth

This saber tooth is a happy one this month as it has seen a rise in play rate. Like moon-crazed cyclops, this card has its place in many regen nature deck variations.

All

  • Play Rate - 17.10%
  • Win Rate - 54.00%
  • Games played - 279,858

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 21.90%
  • Win Rate - 47.80%
  • Games played - 51,164

Price - $0.21

19.png

Brazen Moose

The moose is not looking good this month with its lower play rates. It has truly fallen from grace, where it was the premier five mana card for nature decks. The main reason for its downfall is the Valwarden Minotaurs' rework in the CSR.

All

  • Play Rate - 25.60%
  • Win Rate - 53.60%
  • Games played - 420,762

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 24.60%
  • Win Rate - 46.30%
  • Games played - 25.60%

Price - $0.05

21.png

Falling Star

Falling star is seeing more play this month; there are a couple of reasons for it. One is its synergy with nature regen decks, and the other is because people are replacing this card with jaguar staff as this card gives you more utility. It is also tied fr the highest win rate in tiers below mythic.

All

  • Play Rate - 33.40%
  • Win Rate - 55.10%
  • Games played - 547,522

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 69.00%
  • Win Rate - 50.60%
  • Games played - 161,523

Price - $6.00

20.png

Vicious Manticore

This card is having a hard time being relevant in the nature meta as its play rate and win rate have taken a hit this month. I still believe this card has a place in aggro decks.

All

  • Play Rate - 4.70%
  • Win Rate - 52.30%
  • Games played - 76,974

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 3.00%
  • Win Rate - 45.50%
  • Games played - 7,090

Price - $0.35

24.png

Sudden Bloom

Sudden bloom has kept its relevancy in mythic play and trickled down to lower tiers. It has had a massive spike in play rate below mythic tier. The versatility of the card can be utilized to slot into most nature decks types.

All

  • Play Rate - 16.50%
  • Win Rate - 53.60%
  • Games played - 271,444

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 23.60%
  • Win Rate - 47.30%
  • Games played - 55,182

Price - $1.66

22.png

Snapping Turtle

The snapping turtle has to be one of the most underwhelming six cost nature cards through all sets. I still believe it needs a buff of some sort before it sees any play.

All

  • Play Rate - 4.40%
  • Win Rate - 51.10%
  • Games played - 71,461

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 0.60%
  • Win Rate - 37.40%
  • Games played - 1,344

Price - $0.09

25.png

Watchtower of Agrodor

This card is mainly played in mythic decks; it slots into most variations of nature play. I believe we will see more of it in the coming months, with control nature becoming more popular.

All

  • Play Rate - 9.60%
  • Win Rate - 53.30%
  • Games played - 156,751

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 15.90%
  • Win Rate - 49.20%
  • Games played - 37,279

Price - $16.41

23.png

Raging Giant

The play rate and win rate of this card has not seen much change. Although with the CSR changes and the push for amazon playtime by God's Unchained devs. I won't be surprised to see an increase in play rate as people try to slot this amazon into their decks.

All

  • Play Rate - 5.30%
  • Win Rate - 51.70%
  • Games played - 86,819

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 2.20%
  • Win Rate - 42.70%
  • Games played - 5,231

Price - $0.08

27.png

Giant Pangolin

The prior king of this set, the giant pangolin has seen a slight fall from grace. Don't get me wrong, it is still one of the most played cards in the set, yet the meta has moved on somewhat away from this card.

All

  • Play Rate - 45.10%
  • Win Rate - 54.10%
  • Games played - 740,322

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 58.80%
  • Win Rate - 49.30%
  • Games played - 134,916

Price - $0.11

29.png

General Orythia

This card is seeing better days, as it has seen a surge in play. Wondering why? it's because of the CSR and amazons coming into the meta. This is a solid card in all variations of Amazonian decks.

All

  • Play Rate - 3.00%
  • Win Rate - 51.50%
  • Games played - 49,626

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 3.40%
  • Win Rate - 45.40%
  • Games played - 7,851

Price - $7.32

26.png

Sage of Renewal

This card went from zero to hero in the past couple of months. Since December, it has had a 100x in play rate. It is now core in most control nature decks and even finds its way to nature mid-ranged decks. It is also tied fr the highest win rate in tiers below mythic.

All

  • Play Rate - 20.40%
  • Win Rate - 55.10%
  • Games played - 334,320

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 44.20%
  • Win Rate - 51.10%
  • Games played - 103,525

Price - $0.32

30.png

Guerilla Gardener

King Kong sees a huge uptick in playthis month, the meta has been good to him. He is used in both control deck and mid-ranged deck variations. Another upside is that it is tied with Finian fruitbearer for the highest win rate in mythic. The downside for this card is that with the CSR Henver was released, and that card is vying to replace this guerilla in all decks.

All

  • Play Rate - 6.70%
  • Win Rate - 54.50%
  • Games played - 110,233

Mythic

  • Play Rate - 18.20%
  • Win Rate - 51.20%
  • Games played - 42,577

Price - $8.87

How do you account for widely played cards having a lower win rate since more people play them whereas low play rate cards can get skewed by a few people carrying them?

This is an issue I have thought about, and that's why I thought of giving the whole picture instead of just focusing on mythic play rate. That said my analysis is based on play rate and not just win rates. It is also rare to see low play rate cards have higher win rates. Outliers do exist.
