The Gods Unchained team recently introduced a new P2E system that ties your $GODS earnings to how well you perform during the Weekend Ranked alongside your starting rank. The full details of the Weekend Ranked changes can be seen on the official Gods Unchained blog post. While I'm excited about the changes that reward higher-ranked players, I'm sure all of us are curious about this - how much $GODS can we possibly earn? In this post, I'll show you the potential earnings with the new reward system.
Let's lay down all the crucial details first. The $GODS rewards pool starts off at 100,000 $GODS and fluctuates based on the number of eligible players. Since this updated P2E event starts this week, all players will share a 100,000 $GODS reward pool.
Depending on your starting rank and the number of wins you get during the Weekend Ranked, you'll obtain a number of points. If you scored 20 wins in the Mythic bracket, you'll obtain 2260 points. On the other hand, if you scored 25 wins in the Ethereal Diamond bracket, you'll only get 2031 points. Then, the amount of $GODS you earn will be simply given by $GODS reward for Weekend Ranked = (Your points / Total points of all participating players) * $GODS Reward Pool
.
Alongside the pack reward changes, this system rewards players for playing in a higher skill bracket as a means to combat the deranking that was happening at many ranks earlier. I think it's a great step in the correct direction although some things may need to be fine-tuned.
Now, we get to the spreadsheets! You can see the final spreadsheet that I made here if you're interested in how I arrived at the results here.
To find out how much $GODS you can approximately earn, we need to first find out how many points the entire player base is earning. To do this, I simply took the result of the last Weekend Ranked results and did some spreadsheet indexing to calculate the number of points for each player. Although it won't be totally accurate, it gives us a good ballpark on how much $GODS the team is expecting to give out.
Using the points table that the GU team put out, the total number of points across all eligible Weekend Ranked players came to a total of 32,174,226. Using this number, we can then do some simple arithmetic to get to the amount of potential $GODS earnings. Here's a table of how much you can expect to earn in each rank bracket. Full numbers are available in the spreadsheet.
Rank | $GODS |
---|---|
Mythic | 5.46 (1W) - 7.55 (25W) |
Diamond | 4.22 (1W) - 6.31 (25W) |
Solar Gold | 3.46 (4W) - 5.28 (25W) |
Auric Gold | 2.96 (8W) - 4.44 (25W) |
Midnight Shadow | 2.988 (16W) - 3.77 (25W) |
Twilight Shadow | 2.55 (17W) - 3.24 (25W) |
Astral Meteorite | 2.24 (18W) - 2.85 (25W) |
Impact Meteorite | 2.04 (19W) - 2.56 (25W) |
Purified Iron | 1.94 (20W) - 2.37 (25W) |
Rusted Iron | 1.82 (20W) - 2.26 (25W) |
Purified Bronze | 1.77 (20W) - 2.20 (25W) |
Rusted Bronze | 1.74 (20W) - 2.18 (25W) |
As you can see, it is in your best interest if you can hit Mythic to stay at that rank. The updated pack rewards already make it much more incentivizing for Mythic players, and the updated $GODS earnings further make it such that you can earn a good chunk of $GODS even if you perform poorly.
I'm excited for the new changes to the reward system, although I think that Mythic players are being rewarded a little too much right now. While the system may not be perfect, I think the GU team is doing a great job at listening to the complaints in the community and doing what they can to fix the issues.
