Planets are celestial bodies that orbit around the sun. There are about 8 planets called Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, it was supposed to be 9 but they say one of them doesn't exist which is pluto.

The planets are divided into two categories base on their composition

The Terrestrial
These planets are made up of rocky materials and they are Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. They are the samllest.

Jovian
These planets are made up of gas and ice and are the biggest. Jupiter and Saturn are gas giants why Uranus and Neptune are ice giants.

Planets and their characteristics.
Mercury- The smallest closest to the sun with no moon.

Venus - The brightest of all the planets in the night sky, it is known as the morning and evening star. One day in Venus is 243 Earth days because Venus spin backwards.

Earth- The only planets that contains water in liquid and oxygen, it supports life. It makes complete Orbit around the sun. Earth is the twin planet to Venus.

Mars- Known as the red planet, it has two moons. One day in Mars is a little above 24hrs.

Jupiter- The biggest planet, it takes about, it takes about 112 years to make a complete orbit around the sun.

Saturn- The yellowest planet. It takes about 29 years to make a complete orbit around the sun.

Uranus- Very cold and gaseous planet. The third largest planet, It is four times wilder than Earth and it takes about 84 years to make one orbit around the sun.

Neptune- Also very cold and gaseous planet, the fourth largest planet. It takes about 165 Earth days to make one orbit around the sun.

I believe you have learned something from my little research about planets.

Thank you.
