This topic came to my mind this morning during my conversation with my neighbor. It was pleasing and great to hear this part of me through my neighbor and I was shocked when he made this statement. As a young man and young lady, learn to live right in your society. I didn't know this man had been watching my actions, my behavior, the way I do things. And again it goes beyond my actions to conversation. He started a conversation that challenged him as an elderly person to sit up.
I am a stranger in Lagos State, doing my very best to live a peaceful life that will transform others in the community.
What Makes Society Respect You as You Grow Up
When I was in the village, people in my society did not give me the respect I deserve now because of how small and people do send me on an errand, and I will go with money or without money. With all the things I did for them, I didn't earn their respect. Now I have changed environment, I have grown up to earn people's respect through my character, very important responsibility, values, skills, achievement, and more.
Character is one of the outstanding traits or personalities in man's life. Your good character can take you anywhere and can have a good reputation in your life. I intentionally, build myself and respect people around me. Although I'm not in my hometown, I respect everyone, big or small, regardless of their background. When you possess a good character, society will respect you, and positive influence will overwhelm you. This is how I earned my respect.
Furthermore, taking responsibility is another way of showing maturity in your decisions and actions, and being reliable, is another way society can accord you respect, especially if you are into a business like the kind of tailoring work I'm doing. Much respect will be given to you.
Moreover, being good at what you are doing, like skills, will cause society to respect you. My tailoring work has given me much respect, specifically when I sew my dress and put it on. It gives people a sense of competence and professionalism, and people will patronize me for the good work done on my outfit.
Self-leadership will make way for people to respect me because they know I carry myself with respect and confidence. People who seem this level of mine will stay away and give me space.
Achievements in business, education, career, and every aspect would cause society to respect you as you grow up. I'm that God has been the one at the top, giving me the strength and Grace to keep moving forward. If probably, I'm going back to my village during the festive season, I will be more respected than before. My age mate will give me respect as a big man 🤣
Lastly, showing kindness, compassion, and love to people around you will bring respect to you, and people will treat you as a king
