The Graphics Designer's gadgets are always filled up easily because of vector images, demos, backgrounds, icons and other graphic tools. I had to clean up my clogged-up drive when I spotted this picture. I can't actually remember what I was looking at, but then, it wasn't the sole reason for my being in the snooker room. As I made a second gaze at the picture, the message "Look From Another Perspective" flashed through my thoughts. Just then, I remembered I had become a content creator on INLEO and could pen these thoughts with friends.
The year 2024 is folding up in 7 days and thoughts of the new year brings with it the familiar clamor of resolutions, plans, and promises to "do better" or "achieve more." For many, the start of a new year feels like flipping the page of a blank notebook, ready to rewrite our stories. But as we set our sights on 2025, perhaps it’s time to take a different approach. I mean one that invites us to look at life, challenges, and opportunities from another perspective.
There is always the trap of the Familiar
There’s comfort in sticking to what we know, such as, our routines, our tried-and-true methods, and even the paths that led to past successes. However, the same thinking that created yesterday’s results might not serve us in the year ahead. Einstein famously remarked that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Could this be the year we break free from that pattern?
We need courage to explore other options
Sometimes, the most significant breakthroughs come not from working harder or doubling down on what didn’t work last year, but from stepping back and asking, “What if there’s another way?” There are ways we could try other options as we approach the new year. One way is that we could have to revisit past failures with fresh insight. It is easy to abandon ideas that did not work the first time around. But what if you revisited those “failures” with fresh eyes? Perhaps there’s a lesson or a tweak that can turn those efforts into triumphs. Instead of labeling them as closed doors, consider them stepping stones, opportunities, to grow and refine your approach.
Another way is to shift your focus. If your goals have always been centered on productivity, why not shift to personal growth this year? If you’ve spent years chasing financial success, consider focusing on relationships or community impact. Looking at life through a new lens can reveal paths you never considered.
You could seek other perspectives. What I mean to say here is that sometimes, the change we need is not in strategy but in advice. You could consider talking to people outside your usual circle, read books from genres you’ve ignored, or learn from someone with a completely different background. Fresh perspectives often lead to innovative solutions. Maybe this is why I could take my content creation on hive more serious.
We also get to explore opportunities by being open to experimentation. It would interest you to know that progress often comes with risk. Trying something new might feel uncomfortable, but it can also lead to unexpected breakthroughs. Whatever it is, just give yourself permission to experiment something new.
Meanwhile, know that experimenting the new could come with u predictable results. While we set goals and map out plans, there’s always an element of surprise waiting around the corner. Learning to embrace the unexpected and adapt with flexibility can make all the difference. Instead of fearing what’s unfamiliar, see it as a chance to grow.
See the New Year as a Blank Canvas
Approaching the new year "2025" from another perspective does not mean abandoning your goals. It means looking at them through a broader lens. It is an invitation to reimagine possibilities, redefine success, and rekindle your creativity.
As you step into this new year, ask yourself: What can I do differently this time? What other options have I not considered? Whose perspective can challenge and sharpen my thinking?
Life rarely unfolds in a straight line, and neither should your journey. Take the scenic route, try the unbeaten path, and remember—that there is always another perspective waiting to be discovered. Let 2025 be the year you dare to see the world anew and embrace the opportunities it offers from every angle. In 202, don’t just move forward. Move forward with fresh vision.
