I have talked and will continue to do so in a section of the blog about animals that are harmful to the garden, but there are also many animals that are beneficial to the garden. These are the predators that help us control pests in the most efficient and clean way possible. Our job will be to attract them and respect them so that they can help us get the best harvests.

The firefly is another of those insects that is very beneficial to the gardener. This small beetle is known by everyone for its ability to generate light chemically in its abdomen. It is particularly beautiful to see fireflies in their courtship when they come out at night and the males emit light so that the females can locate them. The one that shines the most is the luckiest, almost like humans.
Fireflies are beneficial to the garden in two ways. The first and most important is that their larvae feed on some of the pests in the soil and in this way protect the roots of our vegetables. The second is when they are already adults, they feed mainly on pollen and help the plants in their pollination. In this way, gardeners have better harvests.
So from now on when you see a firefly, not only enjoy the spectacle but also be happy for your vegetables.
Thank you very much for supporting my blog and I look forward to your comments.!
