I have always been a person driven by passion in the pursuit of knowledge. This is because, growing up as someone who can't help but always try new things, I have come to the realization that to succeed in any endeavor, a profound understanding of that field is essential.
Knowledge is what gives a person confidence in the field they are in. Now, let's imagine a huge ship at sea. The entire vessel is being steered by one person behind its cockpit. You witness the ease with which captains sail these tons of metal across oceans without fear. The only difference between you and the captain is the knowledge he possesses about the oceans, winds, and the ship itself..
Knowledge can build trust in others for you. Regardless of the issue you may think you have with your car, you are confident enough to leave it in the hands of a mechanic. As he opens the hood and starts disconnecting cables, you don't fear because you trust him to fix it, given his claim to be a mechanic. You assume he knows what he is doing. Now, would you let your kid attempt something like that? No, if they are not a mechanic. No matter how much your kid loves you or you love them, you still would not.
I like how the Bible and other literatures use light as an analogy for knowledge. Indeed, knowledge is a guiding light in your life's path. If you want to be wealthy, you will need the knowledge of what to do with money. If you want a successful marriage, you will need the knowledge of how to handle a spouse. If you aim to make a significant impact, knowledge is indispensable.
I leave you with a statement my Dad always told me. He said, "Son, every problem is a wisdom problem." By that, he meant that if you know what to do, it's no longer a problem.
Thanks for reading, and I'll catch you in the next episode.
