Growth Is Not Linear

Success can be represented in many ways, but the most famous representation is a constantly rising line: growth is supposed to be perfect, people are supposed to continuously improve in quality, we’re all just supposed to be getting better and better. But the fact of the matter is that growth is not always progressive. It very often entails the ups and downs, the joys and losses, the bends and curves of the road to success.

In everyday and working-life practices, positive changes may be succeeded by negative changes: progress may be followed by standstill or even by decline. It means that to become a successful professional, there is often no straight path upward; there are several twists and turns along the way, which may be quite a source of annoyance and frustration for the individual in question, but they are also quite normal for the overall development process to occur.

There is actually an explanation for this kind of growth: life is unpredictable and so is our income. They mean that we cannot dictate the external conditions that exist as influence our progress and development. There are times when, all of a sudden, we find ourselves confronted with all sorts of challenges or be confronted with some form of set back that make us realise that perhaps we need to tailor how we pursue our goals in one way or the other. Such experiences might seem to be failures at some moment, but in fact, they are the opportunities to learn.

In addition, they need to know that personal growth does not necessarily take place instantly. Creating competence, relationships, and workarounds is about practicing, learning and establishing connections and work evasion strategies take time. Sometimes, there will be questions that we cannot answer or have no idea what to do next, and these questions are essential for individual development.

growth doesn’t solely encompass their progression. At other times we are thus called to step back so as to step forward in a new direction. It may also require mourn—and this may include ideas, behavior patterns, or people that were negative, but familiar to us. This is nothing new because it challenges us to overcome our fears and uncertainties in other to explore new opportunities to grow.

The acceptance of the zigzag concept of growth might be a little difficult to accept, yet it is very freeing. Through such films, it becomes possible to free themselves from the constant pursuit of achievement and experience the process of Personal development. It increases hope in that makes us be strong even we have challenges, and makes us see that failure is not the end but a step in achieving our goal.
growth can be chaotic, untidy, and inconvenient. It makes us to be keen, consistent and willing to work under new ideas and strategies. That is why one should accept the fact that growth is not a straight line and there is nothing wrong with that because it enriches our lives and makes the process of self and professional development more diverse and fascinating.
