Meanwhile, I would like to share with everyone the details of my day on Sunday, a day ago. As we all know that Sunday was the first day in the month of September, and not only that but it is also a day where we come together to worship and praise God in our different assembly, this day is commonly known as Sunday- the first day of the week.
Personally, I do attend Christian Fellowship Evangelical at Idak Okpo by Ikpa Road, just to go and worship God and also get to connect with fellow men, women, youths and even children. By God’s special grace, I am also a children’s teacher. I love the unit so much because I see it as an avenue to serve God, more so I am passionate about empowering young people, and I love children so much especially the aspect of them that likes playing. Though, it can be tasking a times because being a children’s teacher, is beyond raising children but raising godly seeds, that is children who will take after God in everything, here on earth. All the same, the task cannot be compared to the joy, laughs and smiles that this children naturally exude.
It was really a special day in our church because we held a program to celebrate all the children. This was achieved by letting them exhibit their prowess in leadership skills, their unique talents and also the depths of knowledge that they have. Some children took the lead in leading other people to dance, praise and worship God, another child by name Uwakmfon was the moderator of the service. Some children said their memory verses, biblical stories and even rendered inspiring songs with their melodious voices.
A particular child for instance was able to memorize more than hundred verses from three chapters of the bible, who does that my dear readers. In this our world where so many things are seeking for our attention. Because of this, people approached the stage to appreciate her to the best of their ability. Our Pastor, who is naturally, I mean by default drawn to greatness and excellence stood up, took the microphone and made a promise to the hearing of the whole church that he will pay the girls school fees. This was so huge as we all know how the economic situation of our country is and school fees these days no be moi-moi oh 😜 . I quickly glanced at the child’s mother and she exuded beams of smile, she was so excited. Anyways, my pastor promised that in our next program any child that will attempt five chapters of the bible, his or her school fees will be sponsored. So tell someone to tell someone to tell someone and get yourself prepared. How can I forget to add that there was refreshments, what we commonly called item 6?. We ate coconut rice with chicken and bottle drink. Including doughnut. My friend once said if you forget to do anything in the house of God, do not forget to eat 😋 .
Also, the most important thing that took place was the message time. The theme of the Children’s program was: ‘I am God’s Vessel’ and the text was taken from the book of 2Timothy chapter 2 verse 20-22. It was a rich session and I learnt a whole lot. In summary, God can still use you for great works if you are willing, no matter how young you may be, yes you can be young but useful.
