Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to talk about how fun it is to remember life through photos!

Remembering Through Photos
There are a number of benefits to taking photos when we are out doing things!
I was going through topics and pictures to figure out what I would like to write for tonight.. then I realized that I've got a hell of a lot of photos that I go through, and this topic wasn't written down but was more interested than what I wanted to write about a little bit ago!
I realized that one of the things I enjoy so much is that I remember the situation and sometimes even the very spot I was standing in when I took the photos. The photos end up becoming quite a memory for me more than just the photo!
For this particular post, I was planning on grabbing some river photos. Then I was thinking of the various times we were at places and what we were doing. For example, the photo above was on a hike that I took with my son and that was the first time he went hiking and used a GoPro which he thoroughly enjoyed.
I think it's really cool that for some strange reason I can remember so much about the photos, more than just where it was from. I know there are likely tradeoffs because I've got that weird memory such as me not being able to remember to pick up butter from the store or something lol. I don't mind it though, as they are pretty cool and worthy sacrifices!
In the photo below, my son and I found a place that we could go fishing in the autumn, but we were a little too early. We drove a decent way to get there so we said screw it and decided to go for a hike instead. The hike was way better than the fishing! We found some really beautiful paths to walk on and really had a blast!
In a lot of ways I am looking forward to being able to sit down with my son in a few years and walk him through his childhood basically, through the photos that I took with him. In almost every single photo I've taken, it's been with my son. There are SOME that isn't the case, but that's rare. I know that I don't do everything right, but the one thing I do the most is spend as much time with my son as I can, which has always been very important to me.
I think the other funny thing is that we visit lots of places that are water related. He's just a huge fan of being in or near the water! I don't blame him, it's really peaceful and quite enjoyable to be around water and mountainous areas like this. I couldn't imagine myself living in a desert, but would certainly make due with what we had. This means that we end up having lots and lots of photos of something water hahaha that's okay though.
This particular photo below is one where we went hiking in a popular area. It had a really long trail and was visited by hundreds of people a day. It was a beautiful place that I hadn't been to in years, but we knew that it would be a great idea to bring the camera along! It was a great hike for sure, but there were so many really cool photos and chances to see flowing water in it's various forms!
What about you, does anything strike memories in you suddenly? Let me know in the comments!
