Since I have been dabbling with sketching recently, I thought why not try my hand at something with a bit of colour! I have never done painting etc before so there were lots of lessons along the way.
I have been obsessed with drawing mushrooms lately (as you can see from my previous posts here: https://hive.blog/hive-124452/@beautifulbullies/mushroom-pencil-drawings ) so I started with just that, a mushroom.
Then I decided that something needed to be sat on top of the mushroom, so next came the butterfly. The butterfly looked lonely up on the mushroom, all by herself, so I gave her a friend… a frog!
Trying to colour and texture the frog was a huge experiment and I learned a lot from trial and error. I feel quite happy with the results that I got in the end…
The main focal points were set, I then needed a scene or background!…
Creating this digital image was a lot of fun. I used textures and tools that I have not used before and found it very challenging to get it right. I was aiming for a fairy tale feel, do you think I achieved it? Let me know in the comments! 😀
