Another week, another post. It's been a busy time since I last wrote. My husband's car broke down, leaving us with only one vehicle - my car - to commute to and from school and work. Acting as the designated driver, or "the chauffeur," I found myself exhausted from making multiple trips each day to three different destinations. This impromptu arrangement lasted for a week until we finally got the other car fixed. The repair set us back over three thousand dollars, but that's a story for another day.
On art related update, I signed up on Cara app! Have you heard of Cara?
Cara is a portfolio and social network platform for artists and fans of the entertainment art industry. Our goal is to provide a space where artists can connect with one another, and be a place where art directors, clients, and art lovers can easily find human artists. ~ Cara's FAQ
Cara was founded by the renowned photographer Zhang Jingna, famously known as Zemotion. Recently, Zhang Jingna won a lawsuit against an artist who plagiarized one of her photographs. Together with volunteer developers, she created the Cara app to "help people find human artists easily." You can read more about it here.
And here's my profile on Cara.
In other art-related news, one of my Facebook followers approached me to create an album cover for a progressive rock singer. I can't reveal the singer's identity or the album title since it hasn't been released yet. To protect confidentiality, I'm blurring part of the drawing.
The album's concept centers on a dystopian world, conveying messages of finding wisdom and hope in that ruined world. I did several sketches before the artist settled on this one.
This is a mixed-media painting, though I primarily use acrylic paints.
Here are the progress photos:
And here's the completed painting. I can't wait for the album to be released and see my art on his album cover 😍
That's it for now. If you read this far, thank you. I appreciate it so much! Kindly give me a follow if you like my content. I mostly write about making art, life musing, and our mundane yet charming family life here in Klang Valley, Malaysia.
