Today, for #sublimesunday and #BeautifulSunday I'm sharing today's sketch. Previously, I'd been doing my Sunday's in video form, today in sketch form.
#SublimeSunday is inspired by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday is the idea of @ace108, so give them love respectively and also join in one Sunday, it's such fun!
I Sketch every morning six days a week.
Whether it's a doodle or a full on project I'm working on, I find that Daily sketching is pretty important to me both my Mental health as well as keeping my work flow going.
This morning I started sketching a woman and her dog imagined portrait. This is often a fun go to place for me, especially as I am currently dog-less...an experience I've not really ever had.
We had dogs when I was growing up and I always had them, even at University, when going home I had dogs to play with. But, I'm waiting now for the right moment to get the right dog, it is a big move.
But, today , as I was sketching, a simple movement of the charcoal gave the pup I was imagining a worried look, so I thought it'd be fun to have the pup look as if he's not quite trusting of the artist capture he and his mistresses portrait.
I always go for rough sketches to start with but often then go in with watercolor washes just to give it a bit of life. And of a morning, such as today, with the fire crackling, my coffee cooling in it's cup, the paint on the digital page can be rather Sublime (and this is a #sublimesunday is it not?)
Some of today's layers in GIF format.
It is a Beautiful Sunday for sure, as we had a heavy rain last night. It was lovely waking up in the night hearing the rain on the roofs. The tide was high so the waves were crashing and the door was rattling from the open window and the wind. I love a moment like that, one wakes up wondering, is an ancestral ghost trying to get my attention? Now, that's a good sketch idea...but I digress.
I hope you have a #BeautifulSunday and a #SublimeSunday and I hope my little sketch amused you. I also hope you find a moment in your day to indulge in your own passions and to find that beautiful and sublime moment.
