Hello friends
I'm still on Inktober 2024. I've been occupied lately. Here is my entry for inktober day 23 with the prompt "Rust"
Rust is a fungal plant disease affecting many types of plants, including crops, grasses, trees, and ornamental plants. It is caused by various species in the Pucciniales order, producing reddish or rust-colored spots on leaves, stems, and flowers. The disease progresses in stages, often starting as small, discolored spots that develop into powdery pustules. Rust spores spread through wind, rain, and insects, making it highly contagious.
Severe rust infections weaken plants, reducing photosynthesis, stunting growth, and potentially lowering crop yields. Commonly affected crops include wheat, beans, and coffee. Rust can be really challenging to control due to its complex lifecycle, which often involves multiple host species. Effective management strategies include crop rotation, resistant plant varieties, fungicides, and environmental controls, like reducing leaf moisture to limit spore germination and spread.
I did this using pencil and colour pens on cardboard paper.
