Happy new week everyone,
Today I'm excited to share with you all my first ever self-portrait painting. I decided to make this painting of myself when it was had for me to get a suitable reference photo with a posture that I like. Painting a random picture online can lead to copyright issues which I was trying to avoid. If I'm going to paint a random person online, my chances of selling that painting is really low. So I thought, why not use myself as the muse. I can easily create the posture I want and won't have to deal with any copyright issues. That was what brought about this particular painting.
Just like my previous painting, I decided to work on a black canvas but this time I used colored paint. Not just black and white. I was still exploring at that stage because I wanted to see the effect a colored painting will have on a black background. The result I got was magnificent. It made the painting popped out beautifully as you guys can see.
To now crown it all, this particular painting generated millions of views on instagram when I posted it. It went viral thereby promoting my account. I was windblown with the love and amazing comments this painting generated. You can click here to preview it.
In overall, I'm glad I made this painting. I learnt a lot during its process and also, I was able to love my physical self more. I appreciated God for how he created me and learn to love my perfected imperfect features. I call the painting "Imperfect Perfections"
