Greetings and happy Friday!
Welcome to the first installment of Fanart Fridays, something I came up with because I have gone way too deep down the rabbit hole of my fandom. Guess it is a bit geeky but hey, the perks that come with it are pretty badass. But that is a whole other bag of potatoes, which I am not going to discuss yet.
Anyways, sit back, relax and watch me geek out over my favourite show. Not every #fanartfridays post will be The Walking Dead themed, but a hell of a lot will be, so here we go, starting with my worst work, so that next Friday will be better!
The following works aren't my best or favourites, as they are a bit older. The first was just a quick one I did for easter. I had only about three hours and barely any drawing supplies at the time.
I wanted to make a timelapse video to go along with the drawing...this was my very dodgy setup for recording videos. Back then I still didn't know how to edit videos very well so I needed all this to get things done. Nowadays it is much easier and safer to record, even though I do still want to invest in a decent setup in the future.
I was working on a different work in this style but for some reason I kept messing up one of the faces, so I gave up and cut out this one, hoping to use it in the final thing later somehow.
Being low on time but still wanting to do an easter thing, I decided to just draw a few of my favourite characters in Funko Pop style, because it was easier and quicker than obsessing over noses that just wouldn't look right. It isn't the greatest, and clearly rushed, but I had fun.
The final work, once again....ouch! My photo and video editing skills were pretty pathetic back then.
This video is newer, but still created from the old clips. I love making these videos, watching hours of work compressed into a few seconds is weirdly satisfying.
This second drawing was just something I did for a bit of practice. I have drawn him a few more times since then, the newer attempts have been less crappy than this one. I still like it, just a little bit maybe.
It took quite a long time to complete this drawing, and I learnt some stuff during the process, which is why the feet, which I drew last, looks better than the top of the drawing. Sometimes all you can do is laugh at early attempts.
Well, that's all for today! Just a little bit of Friday silliness.
Till next time, stay weird and creative!
