Colors of the day #2 - the green winter

in #hive-1743012 years ago

Hello!

Today I shot myself in the foot because I chose a photo full of details. When I started the sketch, it turned out that my nature prone to perfectionism did not allow me to stop at the general outline.

But let's start with the picture. This time I was looking for colors that would break the monotony of the winter landscape.

I reduced the eight originally selected colors to five, as last time. I called this set the green winter. I couldn't think of anything more original 🙄

Lately, I've been practicing painting from general to specific, and this method makes it very difficult for me. I'm a perfectionist (it makes everything so difficult), and I'm always under pressure that my work should be perfect from the first line.

Meanwhile, the first moves looked like this:

Honestly, I had enough in the first minute!

Well, not good not terrible 😅

I have decided not to focus on getting the details right at this stage of learning. At first, I want to fight my resistance to getting started and make a habit of continuing to practice, even if I don't like the results. I try to concentrate on the activity itself, not the effect.

Forget the details; I chose the colors perfectly 🙂

See you!

Even your "not so detailed" looks good on its own. The colours look nice, you are doing great. Also, I would consider myself a perfectionist, it surely makes learning difficult 😞and even the final pieces wouldn't have many changes if we weren't a perfectionist. Don't know what to do about it :(

I am also powerless in the face of the compulsion to correct the work endlessly. When I practice, I set my alarm clock for a specific time and try to finish before it rings. Sometimes it works, sometimes not 😉

Thank you for stopping by :)

oh good method there, never thought about it.
