"A great fisherman's confidence to catch fish comes from his passion. Not his gear."

Hello, beautiful souls!
This is a piece from my-so-called-gallery pulled out from three years ago. And with this painting, let me share with you this image that portrays a heartwarming story of an old man's journey as he wanders through the sea and comes back to the shore triumphantly with the sea's abundant blessings - a poignant moment that tells a story of how the ocean has forged deep bond with the fisherman's heart.
I grew up witnessing how these hardworking fishermen had been providing food on their table with their catches through the years. Those foods did not just feed their children's starving stomachs, but rather they nurtured their souls to be equipped with the perseverance to thrive in facing life's great challenges.
My father was not a fisherman. But I could vividly remember how he always told me, with his eyes sparkling with excitement, that he had always wanted to be one. He dreamt of exploring the wide ocean and discovering for himself that beneath the turquoise blue carpet laid splendidly, are boundless treasures waiting to be found.
Now you want to join me as we go fishing?
In this 20" by 16" acrylic on stretched canvas, a painting inspired by the original piece of a great Filipino artist, John Magne Lisondra, let me show you a quick and vibrant glimpse of this fisherman's journey who has embraced life with gratitude because he has been showered with the sea's abundant blessings.
The process...
🔸Step 1
I started painting the background, the sky, the sea, and the outline of the island on the other side.
🔸Step 2
And then I started painting the boat. I also added the layout of the trees and the light seen on the island.
🔸Step 3
I added the details and highly to the trees and the lighthouse.
🔸Step 4
Next, I added details to the sea. I started to emphasize the images of the small waves.
🔸Step 5
And then I also added the water that created foam, which I guess is my favorite part.
🔸Step 6
And of course, I added to paint the main character in this painting - the fisherman. I also added the details to his boat.
🔸Step 7
And then, to make it look realistic, I added the boat's shadow.
🔸Step 8
For the final touch, I added highlights to the sand and also added small pebbles to add drama.
And tadaaaa, I am calling it done!
This is a glimpse of the fisherman's burning passion for what he's doing. A life's simple reminder that it's not about the educational background or the promotions that we have achieved in this lifetime, but the heart and passion we pour into everything that we do, is the thing that defines us as successful.
Thank you everyone for taking a moment as I share with you again another story that vibrantly blends hues with my colorful life in the messy palette.
