This has been on my draft for months now. I decided to finish this today. I was kinda overwhelmed last month, art block attack me so hard that I can't finish any of the art I started. Last night I realize I was returning to my old habit of " I can't do this, that ". Before when I go through that phase, It takes me two or more breakdowns until I can be back on track again. So here I am back on track trying my best.
The art I am gonna show you is a portrait that I drew three months ago. I fell in love with her because of the show she was in she was a carefree person and loved to eat. She maybe looks charismatic on cam but behind the scene, she's adorable and easy to make friends with. I want a friend like her.
If you know Hwasa you know her song "Maria" I love this song it is so catchy at first I didn't about the song's lyrics why is it called maria? I did research and look for the meaning of the song. It is about encouraging women to love themselves and ignore haters. Self-love is the number one thing to fight insecurities you're beautiful the way you are.
She got hated for not obeying the beauty standard of a Kpop idol. She doesn't give a shit about what people say that's why I love her so much which made her so unique and loved by people.
I still didn't find my own art style but this kind of art I am aiming for but I can't seem to do it again. I want a semi-realistic portrait art style. I was planning on buying a pen display tablet or an android tablet. I kinda struggling with line art lately maybe I am the problem. LOL. I did have that problem before. But now I understand it now. Drawing directly on the screen is easier.
I'm still manifesting for that to happen, it will, very soon!
Process
I tried my best to not draw as detail for line art. The more I focus on line art the more I struggle when I am in a process of rendering. LOL. That is my number one problem of mine. I watched a video from Tiktok after rendering to blend your line art, not totally. I did that here and it work for me.
I tend to focus on one another. I always do semi-finish rendering on the skin first and then finish it after rendering the other part of the face. I watch other artists apply basic colors at once for the skin, hair, eyes, eyebrows, and lips before rendering, that's the right way but I like torturing myself. LOL. I really like doing the texture on my art it looks unique that way.
When I get overwhelmed I tend to make a simple thing too complicated. I tried my best to not add details to make it more realistic. I like the result of it.
I didn't focus on hair details I did it simply and for the clothing, the same as the hair.
