Sketchbook Journal 119

There's something unique about fantasy characters, they have a wide range of appearances and styles. Girls with horns and elongated ears are always depicted as mythical beings, the presence of horns/ears gives them a mysterious or otherworldly appearance. Some of the horns may resemble that of a ram, deer or other animals, they can be curved and very long too. This one I created isn't very long but I curved it a little and I like it, I didn't want all the attention to be on the horn.

Rise and shine? Hell no!!! It's a very cold Saturday morning here and I'm still in bed, rising is hard because it's raining heavily outside, it rained all night too. I had lots of plans for today but they are automatically cancelled, doing laundry was one of those but I can't anymore.

It's very quiet too, listening to the rythm of rain drops tapping on my window, not birds singing today. On days like this, I wish I had a book so I could just stay wrapped up in my blanket or an ipad for an easy drawing experience, I can't imagine leaving my bed to my table to paint, no way!!!

Rainy mornings sometimes offer us a chance to pause, reflect and also find beauty in the simplest things so I intend to spend the rest of my day making simple sketches like the ones below and embracing whatever the rest of my day brings. Happy weekend...
